Guest guest
Hi, What does anyone who has read this think of it? I know that minocin can cause lupus flares. But this doc says body isn't " stupid " enough to attack own cells. Still more questions than answers! Guest guest
Hi Christie! I read the doctors article and thought that it was interestng--i have heard of this concept before-that auto-immune diseases are cause by an unidentified (and sometimes identified) infection.......i think that it is very possible that this could be true is some cases but once again I think this is a case where there is an enthusiastic doctor having some success treating people with diagnosed chronic illness and he is generalizing tremendously.....the body is so complex and there are hundreds and thousands of ways for it to malfunction so I would have to say that his theory that " the body isn't stupid enough to attack it's owns cell " is very unscientific and probably not accurate......with what we know about genetics also........people have some genetic tendencies for some auto-immune diseases........science is proving that our genetics are a strong predicter in some illness...like cancer...if you have a strong family history of it your chances are much greater for getting it...ect....ect... Your best bet would be to go on abx's again and gauge your reaction-if it doesn;t seem to bother you why not give it a trial run? Best of luck to you! ; Re: Mirkin > Hi, > > What does anyone who has read this think of it? I know that minocin can > cause lupus flares.
