Guest guest
Hi guys, Sent this message around an hour ago, but it didn't seem to get through. I have been supplementing iron 200mg a day for the last month or so due to my low ferritin (15). But I am starting to get these dark pink areas (kind of like what is described at " terry's nails " on the net) just under the white part of may nail..and I'm worried that it may be due to high iron. On my baby finger the dark pink part almost extends halfway down my nail. Am I worrying for nothing here??! Is there any other symptom that may indicate iron overload? Or would I have to have a test? I am just worried that I may be overdoing a bit with the iron. On the net it says that iron overload can cause decreased sex hormones, and my post-ovulation daily temps have been much lower than they usually are for the last week or so. Perhaps this is due to lowered progesterone as a result of the iron? Funny though, that my post-ovulation basal temp has increased by 0.1C! Should I stop iron for 5 days and then test or am I being paranoid? I don't really have the cash to test this month, I was only going to test next month, but obviously I will if I have to. Thanks!
