Guest guest
Today I got in touch with a women who does a sex column in Eye Magazine in Toronto. I know that someone once wrote into her about vulvar vestibulitis a few years back. When I was researching vestibulitis at the beginning, reading the archive of her column is what led me to your group because she recommended it to the person who wrote in. Anyway I wrote to her and said I was starting one for Canadians, and if she could mention it in her column. And she said she would definitely be putting it in the column next week! So if anything, we are getting the word out to those who do not seek treatment for their condition and do not get the support they need here in Canada. I hope that starting this group will help. I am also starting to get inspired to write an article about my experiences and try to pitch it to a magazine or newspaper in Toronto next year. I figure since I will soon have a degree in journalism I might as well start to be proactive about this in any way I can! Also a totally weird coincidence. I just realized a girl I have been friends with for almost ten years suffers from vaginismus. She was born with IC, and also vaginismus. I had been out of touch with her for three years or so, (due to school, my travelling etc) and she messaged me on MSN. Well through our talking about how annoying bladder infections are, we both realized we suffered from similar conditions. I feel less alone now, that I know someone I have been friends with for quite sometime has suffered with this in silence also. It was somewhat comforting. Anyway I have been having some good days, because I feel like some people do care and really do want to help you! anyway, that's it for my good news for now!
