Tuesday, 4:20 am, as I took my am pills (one Nexium and 2 Slow m Mag, they stuck

in my throat. For the next 14.5 hours, I couldn't even swallow my own saliva and

ended up in surgery under general anesthesia to have the " foreign body " removed.

What I had done in the near dark was try to swallow the silica gel, stay fresh,

hard, round thingie. It was a long day in which I saw some good docs. I told the

ER doc that I needed a stress dose of steroid, that I take 22.5mg HC and hadn't

had ANY that day. I was stressed dosed with 4mg Decadron. Does anyone know the

equivalent in HC? I don't know if it was because I asked, or because they

thought it would help shrink the swelling in my irritated esophagus prior to

surgery, but I didn't care why, I was just thankful to have the steroid~! After

and ENT scope, and GI scope were both unsuccessful, I had surgery with an ET

tube to protect my airway so the FB could be removed. To say it was an adventure

was an understatement. I had to delete about 900 emails, I would have never

caught up. :)

Thanks for any informaton you can give me on the Decadron.

I don't have ankle swelling that I had before at this HC dose (25mg), my pulse

is lower and my temps are coming up, and I'm taking LESS Armour. I don't get it

but I feel pretty well. I'm off iodine for two days. Maybe it was what was

keeping my pulse up?

I didn't have a clue how to dose Wednesday and had no internet all day, so I

took 10 - 10 - 5. Val, do you have a suggestion on how I should dose today?

Thank you,
