S Turning it on it's head most people with a fully suppressed TSH (ie their own thyroids shut down) need somewhere between 75 and 125 of T3 only to feel well. It's a reassonable assumption therefor that a typical functioning thyroid system (ie the thyroid and periferal conversion) will produce around 100mcg of T3 a day. Somewhere between 10 and 20% is directly produced as T3, the rest is converted from the T4 production.
