Guest guest
We have been telling all the ladies on the list for a long time that thyroid and hormones should be one of the first things checked. One of the symptoms of thyroid trouble is chronic yeast, poorly functioning adrenals and hormonal imbalances. Did this doc do blood work on you? Please take advantage of one of the sites where you can get your blood work done without a docs script if your doc won't do it for you. Please get your hormones and your thyroid tested before you take too many of the things prescribed by a naturopath. You could have it done in just a few days if you paid for the testing yourself and went thru any of the suggested on line blood work facilities. She basically sat with me and we went over all my symptoms, Dv being one of them. What the conversation really came down to and she showed me a diagram was about the adrenal function and what it does when it gets on "burn out" mode. I am completely on BURN OUT- HIGH CORTISOL...... which then leads to Adrenal insufficiency....(exhausted adrenals)Which she explained works like a triangle- the adrenals-hormones and thryoid being the triangle. When the adrenals get too run down, it effects the hormones, which in turn can effect the thyriod., Thus causing food allergies and other inflammation responses. SO basically she was saying I am in a perimenopausal state,,,,even being at 30, due to the burn out of my adrenal system. My periods are all jacked up, and my level of depression she said is very concurent with that of someone with low progesterone. SHe put me on a blood type diet, which seems to be really close to the yeast/no wheat, corn etc, diet to elimiate food allergy problems, which she thinks along with the hormonal problems will help with the vulvodynia. She also has put me on an adrenal building system which includes Ashwagandha and adrenal cortex, then a symplex F supplement to help support the hormonal aspect to a more natural level and of course a good probiotic to insert intervaginally once a night. With my irregular periods,,,constant flight or flight feelings, anxiety, depression etc... she said my ovaries are not functioning properly and that is due Long term birth control use, and the adrenal burn out and my body being completely out of whack(she explains it closely related to pcos)...just to name a few symptoms of high cortisol... they areinsomniamultiple low hormone symptomsanxiety(fight or flight symtpomsimpaired immune system (allergies, colds)short term memory lossand the low pregesterone symptoms are even more mind boggling.....I HAVE ALL OF THEM....( TOO MANY TO LIST)but I just wanted to share an experience that may shed some light..any feed back or questions u may have let me know, she listened and easily explained how this can mess the body up thus causing the vulvodynia to come on...."like a straw that broke the camels back"...this is manifesting due to the multiple bodily misfunctions...and complete body shut down...I feel ITI FEEL HORRIBLE ALL THE TIMEhope this helps someone.... Guest guest
By the way, at the same dinner after being on the candida dietfor like almost two weeks I broke down (after my super stressful appointment) and I had those buns they have at Red Lobster...oh yes I did. Just one. Half hour after the meal I had cramps that lasted about two hours out of nowhere. They were similar to the pain I would get on my right side, only it was twice as bad and all over. sooo strange. However I also wonder if this could be because I was stressed about a lot yesterday. And maybe I will try eating bread again in a few days to see what happens. Stress or not stress, that reaction sure sounds like gluten sensitivity. Tell us what happens when you try a wheat test under less stressful conditions, o.k.? Hollis
Guest guest
Hi there . I was just wondering what blood type you are? When I met my friend for dinner last night one of the things that came out of that conversation was this book she mentioned called " Eat right for your type. " She was telling me that there is one blood type that for some reason can't tolerate gluten very well. I have to double check what blood type I am, but i was wondering what you are and if maybe that's what the naturapath was talking about?
