Hello everyone, I was diagnosed with SD back in 2003. I have been on AP since

2004 and am mainly presently dealing with heartburn, digestive problems and a

stricture in my esophagus. For about the last 7 months or so I have been

dealing with swalling problems again. They had disappeared for about the

previous 2 years with the use of Nexium twice a day. My local doctor says it

appears that my stomach produces too much acid. I just had my esophagus scoped

again and my results showed that I still had the stricture(ring) and that I had

a lot of inflammation. I get very nauseated, gassy, bloated and just generally

feel very ill with a strange hardening of my stomach which is not relieved until

I vomit. Does anyone have any suggestions or information that could help me

out? I will be going to visit Dr. Franco soon. Thank you!!

if you have too much acid in your stomach, are you positive for helicobacter

pylori? I am not a doc, I just have gastric discomfort and my doc tested me for

h. pylori. has your doc check you for that before giving you nexium?

Like says, are you sure you have too much acid?It could be slow

motility and maybe your food is not being digested fast enough so of

course it will come up .I had that problem, big time. One week on

digestive enzymes fixed it up almost immediately.I take the with every

meal and snack and never have the problem again.GNC has a good brand in

Ana, I have the same problem.? Infact my chief camplaint before I was diagnosed

with systemic SC was that I couldn't swallow.? I too take the digestive enzymes,

but I find I also need the Nexium twice a day.? I also have my esophagus dilated

about every six months.? That really helps me.

It always amazes me how quickly doctors come to the conclusion patients with

problems such as yours have too much stomach acid. You need that stomach

acid to aid in the digestive process of the food you eat. Changing to a

healthy diet, taking digestive enzymes with all your meals, taking a good

probiotic (taking 3 to 4 times the dosage mentioned on the packaging), and

raising the head of your bed 6 to 8 inches could very well give you the

relief you seek. Consider too doing various cleanses to rid the body of

toxins. Make sure you are drinking a lot of water, and that you are having

2 good bowel movements a day.

You've made a good decision to make the trip to see one of our most

experienced physicians using the AP.
