Guest guest
Gwen, I don't sell any of the supplements I take simply because it creates the appearance of conflict of interest. In the beginning I did sell a couple of the supps. But people made such a stink about it I decide it was more important to get peolpe to hear, to get them past their fears, than to make of few bucks. Besides, I spend way to much time educating people to leave time to sell them something. I was so bad at selling sometimes I even refused to sell something if the person would not do his homework and learn about the supplements and protocol. How many sales people say "No. you can't give me your money until you read the literature." Never won me any bonus prizes, I can tell you that. Nope, I definately suck at salesmanship. I do part time stuff at my own schedule, and Jeff trades me use of his office for doing his web design, etc. So I do fine. We have both considered many times resuming our careers and incomes, and I have tried. But the first time I missed an email, or lost someone to detox because I wasn't there to coach them through, well, it was no contest. I do have to look at myself in the mirror and sleep at night. I always figured if God wanted us to do this, than its his problem to figure out how to keep me warm and fed. The first time I heard from a "customer" they tested undetectable I was hooked. That was the most incredible, most overwhelming moment, I will never forget it, and never get used to hearing, "Hey, I'm undetectable!", or "Hey, I went back to work!" or "I got of the transplant list today!" Now, just what could I trade for that? That, my friend, is the ultimate bonus prize. Guest guest
Hi Gwen, Just had to say so glad you're human. I used to hate when I'd call the doctor and some new nurse would answer: " Ok, can you describe the symptoms? Have you taken his temperature? Well, it's probably just a virus and you know, there's nothing you can do about a virus except just wait it out. Now, are you aware you can alternate tylenol and advil? Are you sure his temp is that high? Hmmmm. That sounds a little too high. Maybe you misread the thermometer. Why don't you try again and call us back. " At which point I always wanted to say " Why don't you kiss my grits and just let me talk to the doctor? " Ughh! It's an exercise in patience. Hang in there! Guest guest
Rosemarie, I was laughing at your description because it's so typical!!! I'm sure we've all had those exact same calls. The last time we were at the hospital, my daughter was going to be released soon and a new doctor came on duty and said we are getting ready to let her go, I'm sure it was just a virus and on and on she went. I didn't even bother saying a word. Didn't have the energy. I should have educated her but I just wanted to go. I had an attending from ID at Texas Children's hospital come in the room once and say " we don't give frequent flyer milage here, so we didn't need to keep taking her to the hospital " . She also said it was probably a periodic fever syndrome and we should give Motrin every 6 hours as soon as the fever started and it should cut the fever out completely. We should keep doing the motrin for 5 days and IF it were a type of periodic fever syndrome the fever would NOT come back at all. She said it was diagnosis as well as a cure. Thank goodness I didn't trust her and researched myself. I did try to call her and let her know it did not work, but she never returned my calls. Oh well. We are going on vacation wed. Maddie's alittle late with her fever. Hope she is just skipping this month!!! Guest guest
" I couldn't believe what we have been putting into our bodies and what I put into mine when I was pregnant. It should be against the law! " Hi Gwen, Welcome to our group. I have found it helpful though I tend to lurk and read posts and not post so much myself because I too am learning and absorbing and also my infant duaghter takes up most of my time so it's hard to reply. This above quote from what you wrote is SO true! I have been thinking more and more that the current dietary guidelines (even revised) and the foods allowed on the market should be against the law. It infuriarates me that that our gov't agencies deem these as healthy and acceptable. Good luck in your quest for true health. I have adopted different practices in our life but slowly and it takes time. I encourage to do what you can and not try to too much. It can be overwhelming otherwise. Guest guest
I had a kidney stone a few years back. I thought I was in labor. That was the worst pain I have ever experienced. I told my husband I would have rather had another baby! Autoimmune diseases can run in families. Not necessarily the same disease but I have been told, and found through research, that If someone in your family has an autoimmune disease, your chances of developing one are increased. They do run in our family. My sister also has hashimoto's thyroidism and my parents have/had rheumatoid arthritis and FM. Guest guest
Thanks Gwen rheumatic from North Coast Hello Leonie, Please allow me to introduce myself my name is and I live near Byron Bay in the North Coast. Like yourself I have been trying natural remedies to treat my RA. When diagnosed in Oct'05 my RF reading was considered high at 38 by my doctor. With my refusal to take all the toxic meds that the Rheumy suggested I take to myself and my doctor. My latest reading in Oct'07 was 515 as you can imagine the pain and loss of mobility that I am currently experiencing. I receive all latest e-mails from the group but for some reason cannot post anything for myself. Your e-mail has caught my eye for the following reasons. After 3 months of continually calling Dr. Mouroukas. He finally rang and explained what his approach was with this AP therapy. Like you I also am apprehensive of taking any more drugs that I have too. In speaking with the doctor he has informed me that the distance between the North Coast and Sydney would prove to be difficult in doing this AP therapy. What I would like to know if you do not mind if you do decide to do his treatment could you advise how the you find the therapy with living in Canberra, how sick you actually get. I know you haven't started yet he sounded really nice and for myself I'm quite interested in starting as I want to get better. Thank you e-mail tuffys@... Guest guest
yep Dan does that same thing, but the fever has to be really really high like 105 or 106 for him to act sick and normal, otherwise it's his usual Autistic self. Guest guest
I worked with a boy last school year, and I adored him, he was very mid-high functioning as far as I was concerned. But his mom would tell me he was TOTTLLY coherent when running a high fever. I found that BEYOND curious and informed as many of the “educated” people I was working with on his case. And no one had ever heard that nor could anyone come up with a reason why. Are you a member of facebook? You can find me Debra eccles byrne I have lots of friends that either have family on the spectrum to people who create educational things for people on the spectrum. Please find me and I will friend you to a man I have on my page that may assist you.
