Probably the general thyroid groups, most thyroid people are hashi sufferers. The general guide to calming antibodies is to suppress tsh, that way your thyroid is not being stimulated and it seems to calm the antibodies as well. 50 of T3 is not a big dose, are you still ramping up or is that a stable dose for you? Guest guest
Nick, thank you. I am mostly asymptomatic -- weight gain mostly but I've lost a dozen pounds from about 10/09 to 11/09 and now weight stable again. That was about the time I started on T3 only. I take metformin for insulin resistance (I started in October, and I think that is actually what the weight loss is due to). Since metformin lowers TSH I need to figure out a way to tell my doc that I'm taking metformin! I bought it from an overseas pharmacy and my doc is very conservative and knew she wouldn't have prescribed it. Do you know if my antibody values are too high? I don't think they're dangerously high but since they've been steadily increasing I'm concerned, naturally, and since my doc doesn't place much importance on antibody levels I feel really frustrated. If she won't increase my T3 I will probably increase it myself.
