Guest guest
Why does the t3 meds come along with a pharmacy sheet that states that one should notify dentist before having any dental procedures done. I'm trying to understand how t3 affets dental treatment. When I was on syncrap I had a dental cleaning that left me with inflamed and painful gums for at least two weeks. Granted, I wasn't on hc at taht time. NOw I am on hc, and will have a dental cleaning today. Should I be taking extra hc before a dental cleaning? What will my dentist do differently due to my being on t3?
Guest guest
>Why does the t3 meds come along with a pharmacy sheet that states that one should notify dentist before having any dental procedures done. The anesthetic used contains epinephrine (synthetic adrenaline) and this can be too much of a stimulant sometimes From http://www.dentalfearcentral.org/allergy_novacaine.html >Why use epinephrine in the first place? > >Epinephrine is added to the local anaesthetic for a good reason: it makes it work longer and more efficiently. For example, the most commonly used local anesthetic (lidocaine 2% with 1:100,000 epi) numbs the tooth for one hour, but without the epi, it only numbs the tooth for 5-10 minutes. Epinephrine also acts as a " vasoconstrictor " : it stops soft tissues from bleeding. >I'm trying to understand how t3 affets dental treatment. >What will my dentist do differently due to my being on t3? If you tell your dentist they can decide whether to use alternative local anesthetics > >When I was on syncrap I had a dental cleaning that left me with inflamed and painful gums for at least two weeks. If you are worried about it then a stress dose of HC can relieve your anxiety Nick
Guest guest
Thanks for this info! I can't recall how much is a stress dose: 2.5 or 5? > > >Why does the t3 meds come along with a pharmacy sheet that states that one should notify dentist before having any dental procedures done. > > The anesthetic used contains epinephrine (synthetic adrenaline) and > this can be too much of a stimulant sometimes > > From http://www.dentalfearcentral.org/allergy_novacaine.html > > >Why use epinephrine in the first place? > > > >Epinephrine is added to the local anaesthetic for a good reason: it makes it work longer and more efficiently.
