Guest guest
How much T3 are you taking? How long have you been on it? What is your ferritin? Are you on HC? Heidi
Guest guest
Started taking T3 on March 3rd. Started with 15 mcg and slowly worked up to 50 mcg. January ferritin was 36. Been taking ferrous gluconate and using an iron skillet. Cortisol levels are normal to slightly high. > > How much T3 are you taking? How long have you been on it? What is your ferritin? Guest guest
If you were taking some form of T4 and stopped on March 3 to start T3 only, then the T4 has left your system by now and you may be feeling hypo. I remember Val mentioning that headaches are a hypo symptom. Can you try increasing your T3? If you experience anxiety or agitation then you'll know your ferritin isn't high enough yet, and you should cut back on the T3. Hope this helps. We seem to be short on mods today. Guest guest
It occurs to me that some time back, Nick helped someone resolve some issues by changing T3 dosing from 3 hours to 4-6 hours, because the doses were overlapping. Guest guest
I actually stopped taking Armour on Feb 13 and was off *ALL* thyroid until March 3 when I started on T3. Today I've had 50 mcg and feel terrible. Here are my labs on March 3: TSH - 12.34 (0.45-4.5) *HIGH* FT3 - 2.2 pmol/L (2.0-4.4) FT4 - 0.53 ng/dl (0.82 - 1.77) *LOW* So by now I must have no T4 left at all. I really feeling bad with BP around 145/90 and pulse of 60. On some web site I read that high BP and low pulse means you're really hypo. Has anyone ever heard this? Do I need more T3? > If you were taking some form of T4 and stopped on March 3 to start T3 only, then the T4 has left your system by now and you may be feeling hypo. Guest guest
My dad had this same problem about 6 weeks in. He has never had high BP. I think losing all t4 in his blood did something. I also noticed that you say your levels of cortisol are normal to slightly high. After dad BP scare. I finally decided to get a cortisol test done and he was low in the morning and high for the rest of the day. I think when he was naturethroid it sort of hid his cortisol problem but now he is taking t3 it cannot hide anymore. It does make sense when they say to get your adrenals and ferritin on track before t3. So I would look into getting my cortisol under control. How much Iron are you taking? And those labs do look very hypo. So if you think your body can handle some more t3 then give it a try. Or you can wait for ferrtin to improve and and treat adrenals. Could it be that my dose is too low? Do any of you have headaches when it's time to take your T3? It might be worth trying more > >How about other symptoms which bother you when it's time? For me the symptoms come about an hour or two after I am due a dose and it's a wave of fatigue. If I take a dose then about 15 or 20 mins later I can feel a veil lifting. If I take it on time I am symptom less Nick -- for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to www.thyroid-rt3.com
Guest guest
I am NOT using T3 but only natl. des. thyroid and cortisol....BUT... ...... I recently learned that..... when I need more cortisol...I have learned to recognize the freezing cold feeling, shortly followed thereafter by sweating...which I learned is an adrenal reaction like adrenilyn trying to make up for a deficient secretion or supplement of thyroid. the sweating is so bad I'm not aware of a headache most of the time. but I DO seem to get them when my pills are not on proper time schedule which has turned out to be 4 x day at appropriate intervals. rather than thinking your dose is: " too low " ....I have a hunch that perhaps it is not...but that it's possible that your 3 hr interval for taking the t3 may need to be closer together???? Guest guest
Heidi, I also get a wave of fatigue and a BAD headache if my t3 is too low. You should be able to go 3 hours between doses if you are on enough. If you can't even make it 3 hours without symptoms, I would venture to guess that you may need to bump it up a bit and see how it goes. Kathleen > > > > >I take my T3 (only) approx every 3 hours. Guest guest
Still having headaches and suspect that it's because I'm too low on T3.
