I would also ask for Aldosterone, renin, RT3, B12, FT4, maybe sex hormones? I forget which are best to check though sorry...

Are you taking potassium? I don't want to recommend anything that could interfer with your pregnancy though :(

No clue about pregnancy! I know the girls were saying you need like 100mg of HC for labor... I would stress dose like a surgery would be my guess. Dose your mid-wife know about any of the adrenal stuff?

I will be seeing a new "holistic" MD next week and he plans to do some labs. I am in week 10 on T3 and up to 87.5 mg. Still on 35mg of HC. What labs should I ask this Dr. for? I was thinking ferritin, Free T3, Total T3, electrolytes, Vit. D. Anything else? I'm a little worried about a big blood draw since it seems to deplete ferritin so quickly. Also, still having some unpleasant symptoms off and on each day of a racing heart (when standing; lasts for maybe 10 mins. then calms down), feeling of not being able to take a deep breath/shortness of breath. My afternoon temps are at 98.4 right now. Still get hours of complete fatigue and weakness. And last, any advice as I prepare for labor? I am 32 weeks pregnant and plan to deliver at home with a midwife. How should I plan to dose HC? I usually take a 5 week pre-labor prep herbal formula but am wondering if I should skip that this time since I'm not sure if it will interefere with the meds.

I'm taking already.Thank you for your thoughts and help and hope you are able to rest and heal quickly, Val! in CA

Thanks, Kitty. No, I am not taking potassium right now and my midwife doesn't

know anything about adrenal problems. She just delivers babies. I'll probably

bump my original message to Val next week and see if she has any input, too.

B12 might be worth checking too

Have you tried the salt water test? fast pulse. especially

intermittent, can be low sodium.

Thanks, Nick, yes I have tried the saltwater test but it seems to subside by

itself, too, so not sure if the saltwater has anything to do with my pulse

lowering. I so just fine if I sit on the couch but when I try and do anything,

my heart races and I feel very week and breathless. The good news is that I'm

tolerating 87.5mcg of T3 and my temps are up. Oh, and my B12 is at the top of

the range.
