Guest guest
First ask at any pharmacy if they have free meters. Many do but they do nto advertise it! Get at least 50 strips for ti so you have some extras. To do a home Glucose Tolerance test you need ot start first thing in the AM before eating or drinking anything and get a baseline FASTING glucose level . Wroite it down. Then yo need to consume alot of carbs. Fast carbs are best for this such as orange juice an cereal wiht sugar make certain it is at least 70G carbs. Then recheck glucose at 1 hour 2 hours and 3 hours after eating. Post your results here and I can help interpret them. This will show up BOTH any insulin resistance starting in early stages and ti will alos show up reactive hypoglycemia which is VERY common in adrenal fatigue and thyroid issues. BOTH of these are dysregulation of the glucose system and can lead to Diabetes if not caught an dealt wiht. I htikn everyone wiht thyroid/adrenal issues should do this test every 6 monhts. Especially wiht the Diabetes epidemic we have in USA. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
