Guest guest
weak adrenals just don't produce enough of it. The cortex of the adrenals make aldosterone. Just like cortisol production can go down so can aldosterone and sex hormones. Not sure of the why of it. I just know my aldosterone tanked and was at 4 <range <=21 >typically if you have low aldo you crave a lot of salt and have BP issues. Guest guest
My aldosterone was tested before I started anything, so before HC, yes I am now taking 45mg of HC and 3/4 tab of florinef. Also take 20MEQ potassium <1/2 tab am and pm>, 1 1/2 grains thyroid-s and 12.5mcg cytomel. I am currently waiting on RT3 labs to see if I need to do just T3. I am seriously hypothyroid right now Definitely made worse since the HC but I expected that to happen As a side question, where do you get your potassium? The source I have would be awful expensive if I start to need higher doses! Guest guest
Kitty, When you say " have BP issues " does that mean High BP? Because as I'm waiting for Florinef to come and doing my sea salt and taking potassium, I'm noticing some higher BPs that stress me enough that it would make my BP rise if nothing else was going on. I'm also struggling with sleep. For 30+ years of undiagnosed RT3 issues I've woken up in the middle of the night for an hour-hour and a half, but the last 4-5 days I've been waking up every couple of hours all night long. Not good! Guest guest
BP issues for me with low aldosterone has been orthostatic hypotension, meaning I get very dizzy, sometimes pass out with standing to fast. Some people have written about BP that is to high that normalized with florinef, I guess maybe due to higher potassium? Sleep is a whole different issue. I wake up a lot and sweat profusely. Do you take HC? Do you have other adrenal issues, low cortisol? Have you had your sex hormones checked? Guest guest
Gotcha I didn't test aldosterone until I'd been on HC for about 5 months, so I don't know if it was already low or if it became so after being on HC. I didn't get the symptoms until around the time I had it tested though. I'll shoot you a private email with my potassium source.
