Guest guest
I quit my florinef a while ago and I see I need to get back onto it. I would like to try the bioidentical aldosterone this time around. I have it in the house. My question is this: With the florinef, I started on 1/4 tablet. The bioidentical aldosterone comes in capsules so I'm unable to cut it. Is it ok to take 125 mg. in one shot? or should I open the capsule and spill half of the powder? Guest guest
Based on what I have read here and on the adrenal board, I would open the capsules and start slowly. I think Val always recommends to work up on Florinef; I don't know why it would be different with aldosterone. Out of curiosity, how did you know you need to get back on it? I have been wondering if mine is low, that's why I ask. Kathleen > > I quit my florinef a while ago and I see I need to get back onto it. Guest guest
Hi! I've been on the bio-aldo since last summer. I started with one 125mcg cap and did fine. I had to take 3 during the heat. I never had a side effect until the weather cooled. My bp climbed, so I cut back. The main thing I've had to work on while taking it is getting enough slow K. Will keep my fingers crossed for you... Guest guest
I'm in the same situation.I do need florinef but after 4 weeks on it I'm with extreme edema from wich all my joints hurts badly.I tried to lower HC but no luck with it either. My wonder is if switchin got aldosterone my body can tolerate better and not creating this problems.I have read that florinef is much more potent then the bioidentical aldosterone. If I want to have equal dose of 1/4 florinef what amount of aldosterone should I have? Thanks Milena > > I quit my florinef a while ago and I see I need to get back onto it. Guest guest
How's your potassium, Milena? When I get that type of edema, I need a lot more. I feel for you. It's really miserable. Have you had your electrolytes checked since you've been on florinef? As for strength, the Canadian pharmacy can probably tell you something about how florinef compares to bio-identical aldosterone and if it comes in anything but 125mg caps. I started with one cap and had no side effects. I'm generally oversensitive, too, like so many of us. Sorry I'm not more help. When I started the florinef the rason was the extreme vertigo and some people on the forum shared with me that they had vertigo problem from high potassium.I started the potassium again with the very low levels but my vertigo is back again. I don't know what is goiing on.Whatever works for people it does not feet with me. I'm going to do another electrolyte next week and see what will be the result.
