Yes ,  The itching is the most annoying part. I didn't I had a yeast

infection so I went to the dermatologist who gave me Ketoconozole cream.  Come

to find out it is also an antifungal, but they didn't say I had a high yeast

count.  They didn't check it.  So, I used the cream on my skin.  They also gave

me some atarax to take by mouth.  That helped a bit.  They also said to take

cooler showers as my skin appeared to be very dry.  And instead of taking two

showers a day, they recommended I take one every other day!  Yuck.  I just took

shorter showers at cooler temps and they added that I should use a soap which

was creamy (like a dove soap.)  I know these are kinda girlie measures, but the

skin is the largest organ of the body and it's there as a barrier to the rest of

the internal body, so it is very important to keep it in good shape.  The

itchies will go away in time.  Just living thru them and keeping sane is the

hard part.  You

came to the right site.  Just keep on asking and you'll get a dozen or more

answers on how to fight off all the annoying and danger syptoms and come out of

this with an optimistic point of view and good humor.  Are you a writer or an

artistic person?  If so, you can write a comic strip about this and make it

funny or maybe show your emotions on a poster, etc.  I also used to use

Hydrocortisone cream you can buy over the counter at 1% strength and dab a bit

on to a small itchie spot.  I did that in Florida when I would get an insect

bite or had a rash reaction to a certain food or flower or plant, etc.  Go easy

on that. It is a topical steroidal cream and not meant for long term or large

are use.  I used it sometimes just to get me through the night.  Another thing

you might try is taking a Benadryl before bedtime.  It will make you sleepy and

help stop the itchies for  a short time.  These are all short term suggestions

for short term usage.

In time the itchies do go away.  Get your yeast count examined and see where

you stand in the fungal dept like the others said is a good idea.  Too much

water and chlorinated pools can also dry up the skin and make it flaky.

Exposure to the sun also causes skin damage deeper than just the top layer.. It

causes changes to the deeper layers especially if you are taking minocin.  Cover

up the exposed skin.  Keep those wraparound UV and IR glasses on the eyes in the

sun and bright lights.  The sun can also damage the eyes and you can develop

neurological symptoms with the sunlight going into the eyes and up to the

brain.  Also wear the best sunscreen you can.  I know there is controversy, but

my husband developed a malignant basocell carcinoma on the side of his nose.  It

looked like a weeping little pimple. For years I was after him to cover up and

use sunscreen and lotion.  He is fair skinned and had blond hair before it

turned white.  Now he

is bald on top with white hair around the sides so he never goes out w/o his

cap on.   These are all measures to keep that skin of yours in healthy good

condition.  Stay in touch, we need more guys on this site to help other guys

like yourself.   And thank you for sharing.  The best to you .  Dolores

The reason I asked about the itches was since I have started AP with

100mg minocin MWF I swear I am itching all over more. I can't tell

if it's because my skin is more irritated/dried or what.

Is this something that you all have experienced?

They say you will have your symptoms of the place that has the most mycos.

Maybe your skin does. Again you might want to cut back for a while. Just a

suggestion.
