Guest guest
I have never heard of this and I can't say unless your having some anxiaty. This can make you feel on edge. For me my E2 did this to me it was to high and I started feeling a lot of anxiaty along with Panic attacks in the middle of the night. My T meds convert into E2 Estradiol easy so I have to say on top of it. I was more irritable before I started treatment. Do you agree that you are more hostile? How did these people know you were on shots? Is it possible that you are just more energetic and more assertive? That might come off as hostile to those who are used to you being more of a doormat. Obviously, I don't think physically fighting is appropriate. Maybe you have good cause to be angry about certain things. Anger isn't necessarily an inappropriate emotion. It's what you do about it that counts. It would be useful to learn to express anger in a productive and constructive way regardless of whether the shots are contributing to it or not. Bundling it up inside and never expressing anything makes me more likely to explode in a poorly controlled rage. Martial arts or some other type of exercise seems like good and useful way to burn off some excess energy. I don't know whether you overreact to situations or not. You'll have to make that assessment yourself. If you discuss a particular situation with an objective person not involved in a conflict with you, you might get some good feedback. It seems to be a cultural belief that testosterone makes men violent or aggressive. People may interpret your behavior as testosterone-related because they are expecting that. It can be a kind of cheap shot by putting all the blame on you (or testosterone) instead of acknowledging some degree of culpability on their part. It's like having an argument with a woman and blaming it on her menstrual cycle instead of acknowledging that you've done something wrong or are at least part of the problem. Since violence is a non-starter and discontinuing treatment isn't practical, I'd look into find a counselor or psycotherapist you trust to help you out. My guess is that this stuff was inside you before and the testosterone adds enough drive and energy to bring it to the surface more than before. Good luck my friend, Brad
Guest guest
ok so what i am getting is that the shot may be hightening my aggresion but most likely not, and that i should get a hold of the doc or a differnt one. i am also getting that maby i should trian more to get rid of pent up energe and that may be making me aggresive. has it ever been documented that if 2 guys start to get at it can excess T make it more likely to fight? i mean not all together aggresive but just when the other guy just insests on making you mad. are my questions getting stupid? > > > > > > people at school and in my family. i was hostial befor but ehy say i > > seem more willing to fight now. who knows it may be some thing else. > > they thought it may be the shots beacuse i started to be more > > aggresive not too long after starting them. who knows. and i told > > them i was on the shots about a month ago but the princeapal knew at > > the begginning of the school year and i see him every say (study > > hall i have not done any thing too bad yet this year...). i do seem > > more energetic i think. i know i have been board with just siting > > that in school or playing PS2 and i want to go out and train on my > > martial arts or work. as for me thinking i am more hostial, maby. i > > have had some interesting thoughts, some i rather not talk about, > > but other consist of me crushing some ones neck but i think thats > > has to do with me hateing the people. > > > > as for being a doormat all i have to say is beware of the shy and > > quiet ones...especialy thoes known to attack with yard sticks and > > 2x4s >) > > > > I'm a long way away and I don't know you so I don't really know what's > going on with you. How can anyone know with certainty it is the shot rather than something else, though? From what you wrote it sounded like this wasn't an entirely new situation but maybe a worsening. Why not do some training to work out some frustration safely? You wanted to train anyway. If that's not enough, how bout adding some counselling to help you cope better with conflict without resorting to violence? I don't think you need a new doc but if you decide the testosterone is making you too aggressive you can ask to have your dose adjusted downward and see if it helps. I don't know whether the documentation you are asking about exists or not. Even if such evidence exists, you aren't a machine. You can still decide to control your behavior. Guest guest
Please don't think this a shallow question, but how frequently do the alleged side effects of skin and teeth darkening due to AP treatment occur? I think feeling good about how one looks goes a long way toward a positive attitude about oneself and one's health, so I am just wondering if this is a very common side effect, or one that goes away. Guest guest
Don't know about sunscreen. When I go outside, I try to wear a long sleeved cotton top with button down fronts so I can whip it off once I am inside. Sometimes I forget and I alway forget the sunscreen. It make me feel gooey and actually makes me sweat more and feel clammy. I don't get into the pool until sundown and then spend about an hour doing aquatic exercises.  Then I soak in the hot tub to ease the muscle pain. ~~~~Dolores & Mike From: marlaprendergast <kws11@...> Subject: rheumatic Re: side effects? rheumatic Date: Wednesday, June 17, 2009, 10:15 PM I am a big outdoor person, it makes me feel great, and to stay indoors would be a death sentence. Guest guest
My doctor says that most sun blocks are a soup of bad chemicals that seep into the skin and damage your DNA even more.Try to find a non toxic one.I don't know if this book is available outside Canada but it sure will give you an idea of the chemicals we are surrounded by.It's called Slow Death by Rubber Duckie and is a real eye opener. From the time you get up to the time you go out the door to work you are already exposed to 110 chemicals from soap, shampoo, plastic dishes and makeup.Kind of scarry! Saw your note and need to tell you I used to do tanning beds and lay in the sun while on Minocin. Now I know a lot of people did get brown splotches on their legs and faces. It was suggested taking vit C daily and it should help. Tetracycline definitely will make you burn and so will doxy. Cooky ? Guest guest
On this list we all take antibiotics to kill mycoplasmas which we feel is the cause of our autoimmunes so therefore we want to strengthen not kill our immune systems. If you are new here and do not know about mycoplasmas and antibiotics please go to http://rheumatic.org/support.htm where you will find a wealth of information. Guest guest
So, what is the answer to the Vit C question with SD'ers who got brown splotches from the sun that never goes away. I am an SD'er who got brown from walking around the tropics 2 years ago and was told to take Vit C by a doc. Well, I hate taking any more pills and since I also have diabetes type 2, I can't drink O.J., which I would love, so, I just let it go and didn't take anything. The brown faded a little, but notice that now just a dash from car to store and my arms are getting brown again. I didn't know that Vit C boosted collagen production. Where does it say that?  Went to doc today. I am negative for Sjrogen's, yeah! My ANA also came back negative for the first time since 2005. Doc thinks this is a mistake, so I had a redraw. The hip still hurts. Will have the fluid tested on Monday by an ortho surgeon. Then next Friday we leave for P.R. again. My daughter is flying in to take care of Mom. I can sure use the relief. Taking care of an Alzheimers patient can sure be draining.  Haven't done exercises in the pool for the last two days. My entire right side feel like I've been hit by a car. I ache from the neck down to the leg. So, Ben Gay and I are sleeping together again and the moist heat thing is with us too. Will take sun screen back to the tropics with me and see what happens. Take care, Best to all~~~~Dolores & Mike  From: rbarna dejazzd.com <rbarna@...> Subject: Re: rheumatic Re: side effects? rheumatic Date: Thursday, June 18, 2009, 10:24 PM I had thought and read the same thing, and from what my doctor read and has found that is not true. I've read both sides. I've been told that vit c help produce healthy collagen. does anyone actually have any research that actually answers this question? roni RE: rheumatic side effects? > > > > > > > > I have been on Mino for 11 years and just pop in here once in a > > while. Guest guest
I am one of those Scleroderma patients in remission - meaning I am off all minocin and iv's.? I continue to take my Ascorbic Acid Powder - I use NOW brand because it is less expensive.? Every night for the past 10 years probably, I use 1/2 tsp ascorbic acid powder, a scoop of what I call my swamp drink but it is Tony Robbins health drink, and 8 drops of Grapefruit Seed Extract drops (also inexpensive) to help?keep yeast production at bay.?? It has always been my understanding that there is good collagen and bad.? I am an SDer who believes in my ascorbic acid.? I also have taken Vitamin K all these many years.? Those two items together kept my spots away.? Or perhaps I was just very lucky.??? I also found a purple drink powder which I also use now.? I simply mix all of these together and while I don't crave the drink, I guess I have gotten so used to it that it is just a little drink to be done each night.? In remission for going on five years now.?? Fain?? ps? I STILL continue to take my supplements.? As long as I can afford them, I don't intend to stop. Guest guest
Vitamin K helps me a LOT. Vit c is said to lower copper, which is inflammatory when high.
