(and others),

A little while back you enquired about my labs. Once I sent my endo

tracking sheet to you, you observed that my glucose levels were high

(diabetic) and not well-c0ntrolled. I know I'm in the diabetic range

(those were from October), being tracked throught the " diabetic clinic " ,

and the glucose levels keep going down even without medication. Here are

the other lab results from last autumn; new ones will be coming after my

visit with the endo on 19 March.

Sept 9, 2009: Ferritin 80.0 ng/ml (range: 12 - 250). At that time

Sheila on TPA said those were fine.

B12 571.0 ng/L (range: 125 - 630)

Serum Folate: 6/3 ng/ml (range: 2.5 - 15)

Sept 28, 2009: Fasting glucose level 9.0 + (range: 3.5 - 6; high; what

put me in the " diabetic range " )

HbA1c Tests since being identified as " diabetic " : 13/10/09 - 7.3;

23/10/09 - 7.3; 12/11/09 - 6.9; 10/12/09 - 6.8. These keeping

decreasing even without the use of medication. The diabetic clinic at

the surgery is very happy with this as am I. I would say that it's

well-c0ntrolled, at least during last autumn (October through December).

I am scheduled to get another HbA1c done next Monday when the blood

draws are done in Huddersfield.

The lowering of the A1c results was done only with using Naturethroid

(T4/T3 natural). Now that I'm using only cytomel my hope is that the

HbA1c will show even better results. My suspicion is that what looks

like " diabetes " and " metabolic syndrome " is in fact hypothyroidism that

has not been treated well. I have been in the " metabolic syndrome "

category since 2004 and the strategy of my endo at that time was

diet/exercise and observation, essentially what it is now, too.

I still have not received my adrenal saliva test results of 7 weeks ago

from Dr. P's office yet though I've requested them twice now. Will send

them on when I receive them. Thanks, Deborah
