Guest guest
My understanding is that hypoglycemia is CAUSED by low cortisol and/or low thyroid. If you are hypoglycemic, you MUST carry food with you at all times, fats like nuts being the best, and carbs like toast or bananas the worst. Once I was able to increase my thyroid meds, my hypoglycemia went away. Eating a high fat, low-carb diet also worked wonders. So to answer 's question, blood sugar problems and inability to tolerate thyroid are related because they are both caused by low cortisol. And the reason you can eat like a horse when hypoglycemic and not gain weight is because you're not storing any of the calories you're ingesting (your body needs cortisol to do that). In fact, some labs might show you to be malnourished! Barb > > Yeah, > > I'll never go anywhere without food on me, esp. in my car.
