Guest guest
Yes, yes, yes. This thread has certainly gotten old and worn. What's a moderator to do? I'm certainly very open and accepting of people's views within the " big tent " of the Weston Price movement. And at the same time this " to raf or not to raf " thread has gotten really old for me personally. And, while the snide comments haven't completely gone away they did improve after my last request. That's good. This list is certainly experiencing growing pains. In February we had over 1800 messages. That's 60 per day and almost three times the number of messages we had in January! One could certainly change one's settings to not get email and view messages on the web (even the digests come too often for my taste.) I think the real problem here is that a small number of people are sending tons and tons of messages and tiring out some of the rest of us. I liken it to being in a meeting where a few people do all the talking. Yes, I could walk out of the meeting and I could ignore their messages but, as moderator, I have a responsibility to " moderate " this virtual community and represent the interests of the larger community. To this end I need input from as many of you as possible. Are you annoyed with the conversations that seem to consume much of the list energy? If so, what should I do? I've considered asking the handful of people that post a disproportionate number of messages to keep their posts to, say, three per day. This would allow for self-expression while imposing restraint. Of course has no way to manage this automatically and it would give me more work than I really want to handle. What do you think? *** Please send ONE message representing your view to the *** listowner ( -owner ). This *** is not intended to be a group discussion but rather a request *** for your one time feedback. *** There's an excellent chance I won't reply to your email but I *** WILL summarize responses to the group and let you know what, if *** anything, I plan to do.
