Good Evening All...thank ya'll for your input!

and I sat down this morning with the first remediation company, as they

explained the protocol given by the environmental company.  We are now in the

state of Texas hands!!

They explained the types of molds located in the air quality of our home...as

well, as the amount in each area of our home.  We have 6 children...only 4 are

still living at home with us.

had several surgeries this summer...we moved a bed into his study for him

to recover because our bed is an antique bed which requires two side steps to

get into.  The study had a large concentration of an unusual bacteria.  The room

does not have an odor or even an appearance of mold.  However, upon removing

items from a closet, removing a large area rug showed evidence of a strange

colored mold.  He would close the door when working in his study, or sleeping at

night.

One of our daughters suffers from eczema...which has been under control until

the last several months...another daughter is also very allergy prone...and

stays miserably congested...our youngest daughter has been complaining of

headaches for quite a while.  Our youngest son and I are fine!!  I guess we are

not as susceptible to mold spores.  I have been cleaning out closets and drawers

....I do get a slight headache, kind of burning eyes...and fuzzy brain.  But, not

too sure if I'm being psychosomatic...haha...or just don't want to clean out

years of stuff!!

We live on 60 acre ranch...we have moved the family into a guest home near the

horse barn.  is feeling much better already.  We are going to have the

guest home " fogged " to remove any bacteria, viral, or mold, which should be good

for up to 4 to 6 months.

However, not too sure what is causing all his health issues.  We just received

the bacterial report from his last surgery.  All came back negative according to

the AR  Dr.  But I am curious about a report of Bascillus species organism...not

specified..and it doesn't state negative....there is also a chart stating the

antibiotics to use that are resistant or susceptible to the organism.  So I'm

not sure what that indicates.  We haven't seen the culture report until today.

We have booked our flights for Riverside, Calf. to see Dr. Franco in November.

We still have 6 weeks or so before we go...But, definitely have plenty to keep

us occupied as the remediation company removes, rechecks, and rebuilds!!

Well...not looking forward to being out of our home...and going through

construction...but, might be able to " sneak " in a kitchen remodel!

Hope ya'll have a wonderful evening!!

Best Wishes, Cathie

Hi Cathie!  So happy you hubbie is feeling better. You are definitely on the

right track and doing a fine job as an investigator. You will also be an asset

to this site and the roadback.org site as fungus is not often discussed.  Yes,

we seem toconcentrate on the bacterial mostly and a little on the viral, but not

too much on the antifungal. Although many of the patients are on difulcan

automatically.  I assume that is for fungus.  I, for one have some gut problems

I take pro biotics for.  It has not completelyerased the intermittent diarrhea

problem, but it does help in that it is not a continous thing.  I have not lost

weight because of it and I do not think that I am anemic at this time. Need to

check that again soon.  I was anemic back a few years ago.  Extra doses of iron

fixed that.  Protein powdered drinks helped me to put some weight back on. I had

a sudden 40lb weight loss when I was first diagnosed. Stay in touch and let us

know how he

is coming along.  We love to hear stories with good endings.  How is it that the

fungus affected him and not you?  Was it because he was sleeping in the room

where the fungus was the heaviest and you weren't?  My doctor is checking my C

Diff now for the diarrhea. Have an appt. on the 15th of Oct.  Will see what the

outcome is.  Take care and keep in touch!  Thank you for your input!  Dolores &

Mike

Goodmorning all...Thank you Mike for welcoming and I to the group!

I have been online for over 5 months trying to find out as much information as

possible.  I truly wish that I had " stumbled " on to the group much sooner.  I

have learned quite a bit from ya'll over the last week or so.

commented last night that he is feeling better...he has been out of the

mold infested home for about a week or so.  He also wondered if the supplements,

and diet have made an improvement. (He has been taking supplements now for about

2 months.)  He actually has started moving better.  He has better coloring.  I

am the researcher.. .I am the one who encourages to try alternative routes.

hates to take pills...haha. ...but, he is great at taking all supplements

three times a day!  He has placed himself in my hands.  I have tried to become

informed.... at times, it seems a bit overwhelming. ..however, I have learned

quite a bit in many areas, but reading ya'lls life experiences certainly helps

us carry on in the direction of alternative medicine.

So once again, thank you so much for sharing your advice...the good moments, as

well as the difficult heartbreaking moments.  Today we meet with the redediation

company.  We will go over the protocal for the removal of the mold, and review

the types of molds, and the density of each room.

It is very interesting. ..with just a little research on chronic mold exposure

and the effects on people, the symptoms are extremely similar.  Even as far as

the immune system, joint pain, " brain fog " , short term memory loss, neurological

problems.  The treatment with antibiotics are used to help the patient.

However, long term mold exposure can create a systematic problem.  The protocal

is also the long term use of antibiotics. . ..but, are antifungal, and can cause

liver damage if not handled carefully.

When we started this path, we hoped for an " ah ha " diagnosis... now, I realize

that perhaps many factors have played into the decline of health of my husband.

Hopefully, we will uncover each aspect that has played a part in his health and

try to alleviate the negative...and embrace the positive!

Have a great day ya'll!

Best wishes, Cathie

Hi! I had been doing really well on Minocin, but had to go off of it for three

weeks, to take doxycycline( it doesn't help my Reactive Arthritis anymore) for a

tick bite. After two weeks off, I felt so sick. Once I went back on the Minocin,

it took two weeks until I started feeling a little better, but it took 6 weeks

until it kicked in completely.

Good Luck.

rheumatic Restarting Minocin

Hi guys

I'd appreciate hearing of other people's experiences and some advice

about going back on Mino after being off it for a while.

After four months off the Mino, which came about because my doctor

suggested I try to get the candida under control, I've developed

inflammation again and want to restart the antibiotics. I think a few

people here have gone off it and then started again. I don't know

whether to do the MWF 100mg as I did when I first started or to do

100mg daily which I've never really done. The MWF in the beginning

took about 3 months to start working. I wonder whether doing it more

intensively would take less time. Of course, there is also the

candida overwhelm to take into account. I'm having Diflucan and

Nilstat for that and am on the candida diet. I have to continue with

inhaled steroids for serious asthma.

I can't use NSAIDS or prednisone because of digestive issues. Am

relying on acetaminophen (paracetamol in Australia) for some pain

relief. I remember that inflammation inhibits the effect of the

minocycline. My doctor isn't willing to give IV antibiotics at this

stage.

Thanks

Ros
