Guest guest
This is a really funny situation. All these years the last thing I would talk about is weight...especially my own. Now, it seems to be the topic of every day. I am talking to so many people about my weight and obesity that if I stop and think about it, I can't believe it. Not only are these people my family...but strangers. People at the insurance company, my boss, the human resource department, doctors and more doctors, lawyers and MGB Buddies. Oh boy,,,,, what a change. I guess we all have been silent for too long. Let them hear our voices now................ Jane

Guest guest
Cheryl... You're right except right now I'm still fighting to get it covered so all my conversations are strictly about my obesity.... not losing weight. I can't wait for the other conversations. Guest guest
Jane, It is funny isnt it. the first time my husband learned my true weight was when we were waiting in amulatory at DH to go upstairs. he never said a word, but even though I dreaded him knowing it, I was relieved that the secret was finaaly out. Dont get me wrong, he knew I had a serious problem, he wrote my support letter, but the # was 315, he didnt know that one!!! But now, as my weight loss starts to show, it is a bad dream I am escaping from. Heard a good one on another list, I want a teeshirt that says B.I.T.C.H, Babe, In, Control of, Herself!!!!!!!Sign me up! another jane .. I am talking to so many people about my weight and obesity that >if I stop and think about it, I can't believe it. Not only are these people >my family...but strangers. Guest guest
Thanks for the boost Cheryl, You've summed up what a lot of us have dealt with in the past, and of course, what is happening right now... the weight loss, increased self esteem, embarrassing complements, feeling physically better, and most importantly, hope for the future. I know you have a prince of a husband, and so do I. I could search the world over and never find one like him again. We share a joke that I think you'll appreciate... He says we could never get divorced because I'd be saying to anyone else I met, " but Earl did this for me, and Earl did that for me " ! And he is right! He is such a gem! I must remember to complement him today... Thanks, Karin ----- Original Message ----- > Yup, that's the way things sorta go when you are on your way and it > shows!! Guest guest
hey guys, you were asking what the T could be for, it could be babe in total controlof herself!!!! Ok another thing, I'm very new at this, but I have been reading all the emails. I would love to know exactally where does everyone start? I have done every diet known to man, I have gone to a surgeon to have any kind of wls, and they tell me I'm not exactally 100 lbs overweight. My family has sooo many health problems, and I know I will end up with them all. I am willing for anything. If you all could let me know where you all started, that would be great. I did email the Dr., and he said it would depend on a letter I should write. Do I do the letter and info on me and ins, then have the other tests done? Sorry for taking up so much time, but would love some help! Thanks, Tonni

Guest guest
Tonni, Fill out the patient information and send it to Dr. Rutledge. My suggestion is to transmit it either via email or certified or priority mail. He will review this information. If preliminarily you appear to be a good MGB surgical candidate he will forward your patient information to Debbie , of his office, for processing to your insurance company. If you have your PCP letter regarding post-op support, physical, psych evaluation, familial letters of support, your medical records and your own acknowledgment and explanation letter, you will be ready when your insurance approves. If not you will have to complete those items on page 6 of the patient manual before you can schedule your surgery. That's it! Ask those here that are post-op for any help. This is a supportive group and everyone is usually eager to help. Sincerely, na (hathfrtt@...)
