Guest guest
Connie, Thank you so much for the info. I just forwarded it to my friend. It certainly sounds like a good alternative to eventual surgery. We all need to know our options. Sue
Guest guest
Chelation has had a lot of success.........many swear by it. I've never had it........well my arteries are clear........but If I even need it.......I will definitely do it. Its given on a weekly basis through an IV drip. Here is some information on it.........Where I go for my Vit drips, there are people there getting Chelation. I found this site that talks about it..........I don't know anything about the site.. Detoxamin - New Patented Method of Chelation Therapy & EDTA Produces Superior Chelation Therapy Results Chelation and chelation therapy uses EDTA, a synthetic amino acid, and has been helping people with heart disease and many other circulatory diseases for decades. Chelation removes harmful toxins from your body, and because toxins are so pervasive in our food, air and water supply, anyone reading this now has a toxic metal burden. Lead poisoning, mercury poisoning, arsenic poisoning in addition to many more toxins are wreaking havoc on our health. Detoxification for lead poisoning symptoms, mercury poisoning symptoms, and arsenic poisoning symptoms is accomplished successfully with the use of Detoxamin, the only patented method of chelation therapy in the world. THE PROOF IS IN THE PATENT! Detoxamin is the only chelation product or form of chelation therapy to be awarded a US Patent. You don't get a patent unless you can prove results and Detoxamin is proving that it is the most effective and affordable method of EDTA and chelation therapy available. Answers to Some Important Questions about Ca-EDTA chelation therapy and Detoxamin. What is EDTA chelation therapy, and what is it used for? Chelation (pronounced key-lay-shun) is the process by which a metal or mineral (such as lead, mercury, iron, arsenic, aluminum, etc.) is bonded to another substance-in this case an amino acid called EDTA. It is a natural process, basic to life itself. During EDTA chelation therapy, the EDTA infusion bonds with unwanted metals in the body and quickly carries them away in the urine. Chelation therapy is a safe, effective alternative to drugs and surgeries and is used to treat many illnesses now known to be linked to the presence of toxic heavy metals. Illnesses such as heart disease, strokes, diabetes, circulatory disorders, neuropathies, Alzheimer's disease, atherosclerosis, and adverse reactions to many environmental pollutants. Traditional chelation therapy uses an intravenous drip, and is administered in the outpatient setting. The number of treatments vary based on each person's individual condition and/or goals of treatment. The average therapy is given one to three times a week for twenty to thirty treatments. Patients Using Detoxamin Say it Best! Doctors Using Detoxamin Say it Best! " I have been using Detoxamin for four months due to heavy metal poisoning, especially high lead. I am very satisfied with the results. My lead levels are down 75%. I should be lead free with one month more of Detoxamin. Tin levels are down about 47% Nickel is down 30% Mercury is down 60%, Cadmium is down 57% and antimony is down 37%. I have recommended your product to others. I have enclosed my hair analysis from ten months ago and my most recent one for comparison purposes. Thanks again. Your product really works. " Ron Pavsner, North Carolina " I have just finished my first box of Detoxamin and my Angina is down about 90%, the tension headaches that I had from high blood pressure are gone, the soles of my feet were bruised black and blue due to poor circulation are now pink, plus I have not needed to take the aspirin I had been taking for the last 2 years for the Angina. This really seems to be helping! " . Barry Honeycutt, Texas " I'm sending you this letter to inform you after placing one of my patient's on your product Detoxamin for one month due to his peripheral vascular disease causing intermittent claudication his response was nothing short of remarkable. Prior to his use of Detoxamin the patient was unable to walk more than two blocks without pain and cramping in his legs. Today at his office visit he reported being able to walk two miles only stopping once to rest. As a result of this dramatic response I can assure you I will be an ardent supporter of your product for it's use in all it's vascular indications. My patients and I thank you for your quality product Detoxamin. " Arthur J. Nahas, D.O., FAOASM New Jersey " I had a 12 year old girl that went from a straight-A student to a D student in 2 years. We tested her and she was found to have very high mercury content. She was also diagnosed with Aspergers syndrome, a mild form of Autism. After using one box of Detoxamin her mercury content decreased and her grades went back up to straight A's " . Dr. Schwartz, The Dalles, Oregon How long has EDTA chelation therapy been in use? Why don't more people use it? EDTA chelation therapy for the detoxification for heavy metals has been in continuous use since the 1940s when it was introduced specifically for the treatment of lead poisoning. It was very quickly observed that as the metals were eliminated, not only did the signs and symptoms of lead poisoning abate, but problems related to the circulatory system like heart attacks, angina, strokes, and peripheral vascular disease also improved. For the past 50 years, well over one million people have received the intravenous form of EDTA chelation. As beneficial and life saving as this therapy has become, it is very expensive and very time-consuming, making it out of reach for most people. Do I need Ca-EDTA chelation therapy? We find ourselves existing in a far more toxic and hostile environment than our bodies were designed to handle. Experts have shown that almost every health problem-from learning disorders to cancer and heart disease-is aggravated by the approximate 1,000% increase in lead levels in our bones. In 1999, it was reliably reported that hearts with some form of disease have 20,000 times more toxic heavy metals than healthy hearts. " Human exposure to heavy metals has risen dramatically in the last 50 years as a result of an exponential increase in the use of heavy metals in industrial processes and products. " says Maile Pouls, Ph.D (Townsend Letter for Doctors and Patients, July 1999). A recently concluded " Body Burden " study by New York's Mt. Sinai Hospital and the Environmental Working Group was reviewed by University of Oregon Professor ph Thornton: " It shows the universality of chemical contamination of people's bodies, " Thornton said. All the studies " confirm the general message that everybody in our society has these chemicals building up. Some people have it worse than others, but everyone has it. No one is clean anymore. " (From Being Careful Can't Keep Chemicals Out of Your Body, Miami Herald, February 1, 2003.) Today we know that about one out of every 2.5 Americans will get cancer. Ninety eight percent of cancer is caused by toxic chemicals. When 50% of all men and 33% of all women living now will die of cancer, something is terribly wrong. (Mortality from cancer was reduced by 90% during an 18-year study of 59 patients treated with Calcium-EDTA. Visit our website to read this study, and over 40 others proving the efficacy of Ca-EDTA chelation therapy and Detoxamin.) We will all function better and live longer if we lower the overall burden of toxic metals within ourselves. If you eat or breathe, you will probably benefit greatly from chelation therapy. Is Detoxamin safe for children? Yes. In fact, our Detoxamin case studies were conducted on lead poisoning in children. The study showed no significant increase in BUN or creatinine levels even in very young children. Due to our lower dosage and time release formulation, no renal toxicity was encountered. What makes Detoxamin® the best method of Ca-EDTA chelation therapy? Detoxamin is a new patented method of Ca-EDTA chelation therapy medically equivalent to I.V. chelation therapy-the difference is that Detoxamin introduces a smaller dosage on a nightly basis. Each Detoxamin suppository is designed to release 750 mg of Ca-EDTA directly into the bloodstream through the colon wall-safely, gradually, effectively. When Detoxamin is taken prior to bedtime, there is less metabolic competition for EDTA, resulting in more passing through the system. This fact, combined with the lower, more frequent dosage, provides for safer administration of EDTA. The key component that makes Detoxamin EDTA suppositories equal to the I.V. chelation method is its high rate of absorption. Detoxamin EDTA suppositories allow 90-95% absorption of EDTA through the colon wall. In fact, EDTA absorption with Detoxamin EDTA Suppositories is so high that you would need to take 135 oral EDTA tablets (500mg each) to equal just five Detoxamin EDTA suppositories. For every three Detoxamin EDTA suppositories you receive the medical equivalent of one I.V. chelation Treatment. This makes Detoxamin therapy the best method to deal with today's polluted world-hands down. Detoxamin makes chelation therapy private, convenient, and less expensive. Until now, the only successful way to administer EDTA has been either intravenous or intramuscular-both ways are difficult, expensive, and time consuming. Detoxamin allows you to administer the therapy at home easily, safely, at about 30% of the traditional cost. Finally, you have a viable alternative to invasive I.V. needles, expensive office visits, and time consuming treatments. Wake Up to a new level of health. Wake up knowing you are healthier than you were yesterday. Detoxamin Ca-EDTA chelation therapy works while you sleep to gently and gradually rid your body of heavy metals and other deadly toxins. Be Aware that the average body holds 1,000% percent more lead today than 100 years ago simply because of the environment we live in. Chelation therapy is a safe, effective, inexpensive alternative to drugs and surgeries. Chelation therapy has been successfully used for decades to treat illnesses such as heart disease, strokes diabetes, and removing unnecessary heavy metals like lead, mercury, even pesticides. Protect Yourself and your family with the most effective self-administered Ca-EDTA therapy available. Detoxamin Ca-EDTA chelation therapy is just as effective as traditional intravenous methods-without any needles, repeated office visits, or time consuming intravenous treatments. At about 30% of the traditional cost. Learn More about Detoxamin by calling us toll free at 1-800-578-5939 or order now by clicking here. IV can be expensive and is only a TEMPORARY solution for the duration of time one is doing it. Vit. C, i.e., is water soluble and therefor it does not have lasting effects. What DOES have lasting effects is to get a regiment of supplements/cleansing products; it takes an individual protocol. sue massie, CNHP Nature's Garden of Health 732 933-4011

Guest guest
Vitamins Therapy and Chelation Therapy can be supplements or through liquid....... The best and most potent way is through IV Drips. Its prescribed by Medical Doctors.......performed in their offices by skilled nurses. I see an Internist, he treats complimentary, using both traditional medication and alternative. He would never use an alternative means of treatment, if he felt the patient needed immediate traditional care, like surgery etc.......some of his patients are on both supplements and prescriptions (like myself) I'm in NJ, I know a couple of Drs. that do Chelation and Vitamin Drips....in NJ.I think Dr. Condron in the Brunswick area does Chelation too.........and I believe there is another good Dr. in Somerville, NJ One is Dr. Majid Ali, he is located in Denville. I see Dr. Hoffman in NYC. There are others.........do a goggle search and see what you find. There isn't anything like a B12 shot to get you running again. A full bag of Vitamin C, really begins to turn things around. Unfortunately, you have to dig deep in your pockets, because Insurance will not cover treatments that are certainly not Federally approved. There is literature out there proving otherwise, but as we all know the Government doesn't want to hear about it. ConnieKnwnj When our bodies & minds are out of balance....... ........we suffer! He was just diagnosed with autism. I don't know where to start, it's just been stressful for the whole family. I have read about chelation therapy and I want to try it. Has anyone know the clay chelation therapy or has anyone tried this therapy. Does it work? Or should I just stick with Epsom Salt. The brand is Kid's Clear:100% Bentonite Clay for bathing. Thank you for your help. sara
Guest guest
Can I ask what you have done so far? (biomedically speaking, that is). Before chelation I think you want to get the gut " reasonably " under control. That's what I'm doing with my 4 year old son. Have you had any tests yet for yeast, bacteria, or viruses? Or a hair elements test? If you have not yet, I can tell you where I got mine and walk you through what I've done so far. Maggie Sara Bekarian <sarabekarian@...> wrote: Hi, I have a 3 years old boy. Guest guest
Not a problem....us parents have to help each other out!! Yes, going gf/cf is the first thing you should do. Some people notice dramatic improvements very quickly, sometimes it takes a few months to see results. Every kid is different. http://www.talkaboutcuringautism.org/index.htm The above link will take you to a fantastic parent support group that also helps teach about how to go on the gf/cf diet as well as other biomedic approaches. So you don't get overwhelmed too quickly I'll give you the best advice I've heard about having an autistic kid.....there are no " quick fixes " . Anyone trying to sell you something that is promised to change your child in a week's time is full of you-know-what!!! However, there are lots of parents and proffesionals who have helped kids recover or at the very least, get better with proven biomedical approaches. The first thing you want to do is start cleaning the gut. Most of our kids are sensetive to foods like gluten and casein and these foods cause all sorts of problems for them. You also want to get a good probiotic. Probiotics help balance out the good bacteria in the gut and help to get rid of the bad. This is a link to a supplement company that specializes in supps for autistic and adhd kids. http://www.kirkmanlabs.com/ My son is on the Pro-Bio Gold probiotic and we've had no problems with it. Also, the DPP-IV enzymes are a great way to make sure your kid is digesting all foods (even if you are gf/cf they are helpful) Most ASD kids are deficient in vitamins and minerals as well and my son's DAN! doctor suggested the chidren's chewable multi-vitamin as well as the Balanced Omega Combination. Just poke around their product lists and you'll find these. You'll want to start 1 supplement at a time. Sometimes we rush into things and start everything at once. The problem with that is you can't tell what's working or not and you want to go slow so you can watch for reactions. Another thing to do is start all supplements at about 1/4 the recommended dosage and work your way up. It will prevent bad reactions and be gentler on your child. On the TACA website link you'll also find a list of DAN! (Defeat Autism Now!) doctors. Make an appt so you can get proper tests done to find out exactly what's going on with your child (yeast, viruses, heavy metal toxicity). I thought my son was perfectly healthy and when we tested him I found out he has a terrible yeast infection (common) and brain swelling due to either viruses or mercury toxicity. I am cleaning out his gut for the next few months and then I'll do chelation. But, there's alot to do before we begin that! http://www.autism.com/index.htm here you will find alot of info and a comprehensive list of DAN! docs in your area. Just a warning....these docs are not cheap and most don't take insurance. But, they are the best for autistic children and can help you. Please also contact your local Regional Center. They are a state-funded agency that will provide services such as ABA therapy for your child. Also, since your child is three, contact your school district. They will do assesments and are required to give school services as well. My son is in a Special Day Class and it's done wonders for him. There! I hope I haven't overwhelmed you!! Just keep asking questions and keep reaching out. Remember, it's not a sprint....it's a marathon....so pace yourself and take one step at a time!! Friend of mine told me to start the chelation therapy. Please any information you have would really help me. I'm confused honestly don't know where to start. Also I'm planning to put him on the GFCF diet. Thanks Maggie for your help. sara Maggie ORourke wrote: Can I ask what you have done so far? (biomedically speaking, that is). Guest guest
Welcome to the list Sara! If you're new to all of this, I highly recommend reading a few good books on the subject. Have a look at the Autism Research Institute website - there is a list of suggested reading on the website of the Autism Research Institute, (http://autismstore.dyndns.org/Products-Books.html) and many of those will give you a great high-level overview of autism, its symptoms, underlying medical problems, treatment approaches, diets that help, supplements etc. I've read several books on that page and highly recommend: - Children with Starving Brains, by Jaquelyn McCandless - Healing the new childhood Epidemics, Autism, ADHD, Asthma and Allergies by Bock I haven't read Dr Jepson's book, Changing the Course of Autism, but hear that it's excellent. (But more technical than the other 2 I think so depending on your comfort zone right now, you might want to start with the other 2 for an overview...) Note that this field is so broad and some of the therapy described in the books may or may not apply to your child, but they can give you a good overview of biomed in general, a good sense of hope and a sense of direction. When it comes to chelation, two must have references are Hall Cutler's books Amalgam Illness and Hair Test Interpretation (you can buy them here www.noamalgam.com) for on this subject, there are a lot of different protocols out there. Many chelation treatments prescribed by DAN doctors are considered dangerous by Andy (doses too high, too far apart, wrong chelators, etc.) and many on this list will agree. It's important to research the subject, take the right tests, get input from doctors yes, but also double check this with other parents who can advise with their experience. I know it's so overwhelming in the beginning. There is so much complex information to digest but there are a lot of answers to be found here. But as the last poster said, this process is a journey not a race and though there are usually no quick fixes, you'll discover a lot that will help immensely. Guest guest
Hi Sara, You're in the right place. Please read the FAQs of this list when you have a chance. Educate yourself on proper, safe chelation before any doc tries to talk you into unsafe tests or treatments. You can order a DDI hair elements test through DLS without a doc. If you mention this group they'll give you a discount. Once you get results we can help you interpret them. One needs to apply counting rules. I presume your son has NO mercury amalgam dental fillings. Has he had vaccines? Two books which may interest you on that topic are Dr. Cave's " What Your Doctor May NOT Tell You About Childhood Vaccines " and Kirby's " Evidence of Harm " . Guest guest
Here's how I got tested for mercury....  http://www.mercout.com/pages.php?pageid=42   I did mine through my doctor. If you doctor doesn't do that than you may have to find a good D.O. in your area. Never start chelation therapy until you've been tested and know for sure that you are high in metal. Also, if you do test high for mercury, you should try to get any silver dental fillings replaced before starting chelation therapy. I have 9 fillings but I had to start chelation therapy anyway b/c I suffer from anxiety and panic disorder. I'm trying to get some of the mercury (and yeast) cleared up before I go through those procedures.  Not to scare you b/c I'm there....I have very high mercury levels and candida/yeast overgrowth but here's a couple pages that cover the connection.  http://www.cfspages.com/fire.html  http://www.mercurylife.com/

Guest guest
Hi, Kathy: I don't have RA, but AS and chelation helped me very much and others as well. I do not believe that heavy metals had any relation to my symptoms, but the chelation may have helped eliminate the immunoglobulin responsible for my disease. The chances are that some arthritis is complicated by heavy metals and both mercury and especially cadmium (often found in association with lead) can cause arthritic symptoms.
