Guest guest
It is possible to still have thyroid tissue in the thyroglossal duct <developemental tract from the base of the tongue to where the thyroid migrates to at the base of the throat>. I had that removed due to a cyst in 2003 and it had quite a bit of thyroid tissue in it, microscopic of course... If you can have the test done by your doc it certainly couldn't hurt Kitty To: RT3_T3 Sent: Mon, April 5, 2010 10:44:09 AMSubject: No thyroid, is it possible to still have antibodies? Should I get my antibodies tested if I had my thyroid removed?THanks! in CA

Guest guest
I doubt there is much opoint as there is nothing for the antibodies ot attack, but I htink you can stil have them. There ARE antoibodies to the thyroid hormones as well but I do nto think you can even test for those. -- http://nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/

Guest guest
I was recently very surprised to read in Dr Peatfield's book...that some folks were found to have THYROID tissue around, behind or attached to their tonsils! if that were the case...it could explain the presence iof anti-bodies...since there is still thyroid tissue present altho not in the usual place? Guest guest
That would make sense, finding thyroid tissue there. The thyroid starts it's development at the base of the tongue and migrates during developement to it's final position in the neck. That is how people get thyro-glossal duct cysts <I had one shortly after being diagnosed with Hashi's and the duct was full of thyroid tissue!> kitty To: RT3_T3 Sent: Mon, April 5, 2010 3:12:19 PMSubject: Re: No thyroid, is it possible to still have antibodies?
