Jen and anyone else:

I finally got my hands on an adequate moisture chamber from a store here - exact same one from the pro-optics.inc website - for about $12.50!

Now that I've used it for 2 nights, I have a question....when you use this at night time, the next morning are you aware of moisture? So far it has not been obvious to me. Not sure if I am aware of any difference at all with my eye except maybe it feels warmer than usual.

???

I can't say there's " excess " moisture Barbara, but my eye isn't dry when I

use it nightly compared to not using it. It also is protection to me from

say, if the heater is on during the night in the winter, or if my window is

open in the summer. I just use it on one eye now because I *finally* had a

gold weight put in the other eye (the tarsoephys were never removed though)

and it now closes enough to just use a small amount of ointment in it at

night. I use the eyewash suggested (thank you, , it works great!)

to remove the oil slick in the morning. Anyway, the moisture chamber goes on

my good eye everynight . My tear ducts were lasered shut 10+ years ago (best

thing I ever did for them!) so they hold moisture, but in the day that

moisture evaporates depending on the weather. The chamber prevents the

evaporation of it all those hours at night. .. If you use the elastic band

that it comes with, you will probably wake to puffy eyes (that goes down),

but I don't find that to be a large problem by cutting off the elastic and

taping it on. These are a must on both eyes in the hospital. I used these

the last time, taped them on in pre-op, and for the first time in my life I

saw perfectly when I woke up in ICU.
