Guest guest
Many years ago, I heard that any infection sucks the magnesium from your body. I use Slo-Mag it is the right formula especially for muscle cramps and pain. I buy it at Walmart. It is about $10, but up to $15 in the drug store. It apparently is the correct formula of magnesium to use. It really helps me. Guest guest
Dear Faith, When I had candida I had a lot of sore and tight muscles, especially around my shoulders and mid-back. Candida toxins move around a lot, which are mostly alcohol, and they will cause all kinds of muscle pains and interfere with the body's utilization of calcium, magnesium, phosphorus and other minerals required for good bone health. As you continue progressing with the diet it will improve. Hang in there - it's take time. Hugs, Bee > > Do any of you have trouble with the muscles in your mid back (bra > height). Guest guest
Thanks Bee. One gal suggested it could be my heart. Do you think this is possible? I am sure it is the tightening muscles that give me a feeling like I can't take a deep breath. I hate to think about another problem while I am trying to recover from this one. I get mine from www.proteinfactory.com just get regular whey in the flavor you like... no need for fancy aditives/extras... at this point you just need more protein to make muscles out of... do a couple of 2 scoops shakes a day for a while (with milk that's roughly 100 grams of protein) say a month or two while still working out hard and eating all you are n ow and you'll put on muscle (assuming you have a decent test level). Guest guest
Great just make sure the whey is not made from SOY to much SOY is not good for men. It acts like E2 in your body a none working Estradiol that the brain sees as working. Guest guest
Hi, that's why I specifically said " WHEY protein powder " (which is also cheap) instead of just " protein powder " ... there are LOTS of protein powders... whey, soy, egg white, casein, hydrolyzed... some are more expensive, some taste better than others and some digest quicker than others... plain whey protein is cheap, easily digestible, tastes decent, mixes easy... once you've got your test level worked out add some protein to your diet and your body can put the muscle back on it that it should have. the only one to avoid is SOY... soy is marketed for -WOMEN- (specifically menopausal women) -FOR- it's estrogens. > > > > > > what would happen if you inject depo-testosterone in > > your arm muscles > > > will it make your muscles get bigger mine have always > > been small an I > > > work real hard they still dont grow > > > > > > > Hi, > > > > eat more protein... not in place of what you're eating > > now... on top > > of it. > > > > try a gram of protein for every pound of body weight. > > > > one of the easiest ways to get more protein into your diet > > is whey > > powders.... Guest guest
I check in often but some of the stuff doesn't apply to me. I would like to find out from another person with DM about muscle loss. Between August and October of last year my inflammation got worse and my glute and tricep muscles especially just " collapsed " . Now they sag and I'm wondering if exercise can get my shape back. Has anyone else experienced this ??
Guest guest
Thank you Eva and for your input into the muscle issue. Even though I've improved my strength about 80% from last fall - I still feel muscle fatigue in my upper leg and butt when I climb even a few stairs. Guest guest
Sorry Jen - I thought it was Ken's post. My skin is still red - face, eyelids, neck , chest, upper back, knuckles and purple knees (especially after a shower). I am single and looking to date again - I don't know if anyone can get past my looks. My friends say it's not that bad, but of course I hate the way I look. Oh and my hair is thinning at an alarming rate - anyone for a bald lady ? Guest guest
I make myself get up the stairs at least once a week (15 steps). Going up is not as bad as coming down I have to make sure I am holding on so I will not fall and I better now wear slippers. Guest guest
, Since reaching remission/control of my DM and MCTD with CREST via the AP, I have most of my strength back. The muscle definition that I had prior to DM is not the same as before but I ice curl, 10-pin bowl, garden, walk miles up and down hill, do stairs, ride a bike, open jars, grocery shop and carry my own groceries to the car, load them, take them out again at home and put them all away, even the 20 lb bags of sugar or flour. I can carry an 8kg bag of cat food all the way from the house to the barn as well. Life is great once again. Hang in there. I have 4 grandchildren, the latest one is just 2 months old and for the first time I have been able to hold and carry her around. When the other 3 were born, holding a baby for more than 2 minutes was impossible. Thanks to the AP I can experience that joy. You too will one day get your life back with patience and perseverance and possibly a lot of tweeking the protocol to conform to your own unique condition. Guest guest
Carol, I loved your letter and celebrate your victory. These victories are hard won which i why I celebrate them so. We are in a culture which wants instant happiness and instant cure and change of diet is " just too hard. " What I think is hard is being unable to live a full life, to hold that two month old grandchild and not be able to walk up stairs! I am talking this today as my phone rings a lot as scleraderma people find me and they are scared and want help. Only ONE has been willing to do the AP and diet and living changes and she is alive and doing WELL. The rest? I have said good by to when they passed away and this breaks my heart. We have many here who are still confined to wheelchairs on this site and I applaud them and cheer them on as I want to see them able to WALK to the finish line without so much pain and limitations. Bravo to ALL of us! Love, rheumatic Re: Muscles , Since reaching remission/control of my DM and MCTD with CREST via the AP, I have most of my strength back. I've been taking epsom salt baths and > soaking for a while, but they're not helping, Is there a treatment or > something to help calm this down? +++Hi April, It is always good to read messages by my moderators or me, so you can get more information on issues like you describe. Many other people on this program are also having the similar symptoms and reactions. First, just to confirm, are you completely on all supplements and the diet now, and not doing any other treatments or taking things not recommended, including drugs, birth control pills, etc.? Also, do you get those spasms and involuntary movements consistently throughout the day and night, or just some of the time, and if so when do they happen more often? You also need to realize you will get new symptoms that are not due to retracing as explained in the Retracing Article. However any and all symptoms and reactions, whether new or because of retracing past symptoms, are healing and detoxifying symptoms and reactions! Toxins being released and detoxified are the main cause of your symptoms. Also if you have too many foods, tea, herbs, etc. that are diuretic (meaning they get rid of water) they will also get rid of important minerals. Foods that are diuretic include green vegetables (some people go overboard on them), caffeine, most tea and many herbs. Also ensure you are not having any kind of " green " drinks or products like chlorophyll, chlorella, etc. which are also diuretic. If you take baking soda to settle your stomach, be cautious not to have too much, since it is high in sodium which is also diuretic that can throw off mineral balances. Less than 2 teaspoons total per day may be okay, taken in 1/4 teaspoon doses at a time. People who like sardines get more calcium since there is 300 mg in every can, which can also throw off the cal/mag balance, in which case you would lower your calcium on days when you eat a full can. Having 3 mugs of Mineral-Rich Bone Broth in a day provides plenty of calcium and magnesium, in which case you should not take cal/mag supplements on days you consume that much. Minerals can only be utilized in the body if you get the correct combination of good fats recommended on this program, including cod liver oil (contains omega 3, and vitamins A & D), vitamin E, saturated fats like unrefined coconut oil, butter, lard, and other animals fats. Of course all of the nutrients work together, i.e. protein, vitamins, minerals, fats, etc. Also see How to Improve Insomnia (Sleep): http://www.healingnaturallybybee.com/articles/sleep1.php All the best, Bee > > >
Guest guest
Hi Bee, OK, I'll see what else I can find. I found other medical problems on the site like migraines, allergies, but didn't see muscles. I'm on the diet, on most supplements, still need to buy vitamin E and I think another. I'm figuring out amounts of some things like salt and fats. I still need to increase coconut oil more. I think I am on most of it so far. I'm doing the baths and brushing (have some questions on those). No birth control pills, green drinks, chlorella, diuretics or other things you mentioned. I don't get spasms all the time, but I get them often and sometimes it's worse like yesterday. Right now it is mild. If my muscles are not jumping, then I sleep, when they're active I can't fall asleep. I'm not sure when it's worse. It might be worse or I notice it more when I lie down or try to rest, but it can also happen when I'm out. You just told me salt is a diuretic, maybe that's what made it worse yesterday because I've been drinking quite a bit of the salt drink. I mistakenly made it with a Tablespoon of salt instead of a teaspoon. So much to learn!
