Guest guest
Hi Cooky, Where did you get this information from? My 94 yr. old mother keeps telling me not to go into the hot tub after eating. Does she know something that I don't? She has Alzheimers so she doesnt remember why we should not be in hot water after eating. she just knows you're not supposed to because her mother told her so when she was a little girl. My mother's memory is mostly back in the 1920's and 1930's. I would love to know where this info came from. Therefore take fruit 1-2 hr after meal or 1 hr before meal. * Don't drink tea - Because tea leaves contain a high content of acid. This substance will cause the Protein content in the food we consume to be hardened thus difficult to digest. * Don't loosen your belt - Loosening the belt after a meal will easily cause the intestine to be twisted & blocked. * Don't bathe - Bathing will cause the increase of blood flow to the hands, legs & body thus the amount of blood around the stomach will therefore decrease. This will weaken the digestive system in our stomach. * Don't walk about - People always say that after a meal walk a hundred steps and you will live till 99.. In actual fact this is not true. Walking will cause the digestive system to be unable to absorb the nutrition from the food we intake. * Don't sleep immediately - The food we intake will not be able to digest properly. Thus will lead to gastric & infection in our intestine. FINALLY DONT JUST KEEP THIS EMAIL.... PLEASE FORWARD IT TO YOUR FRIENDS.
Guest guest
Dolores I am sorry I have no idea. I just send along stuff that is sent to me. The people who send stuff to me get stuff sent to them. So on it goes. I sent this on because it should be informative to all of us. I would imagine it has something to do with digestion and the heat. Guest guest
Hi Dolores, I'm laughing as I'm reading your email re the " don't go in the water for 30 minutes after eating " as I too, had a Mom who preached that all my young years when we were at Beach. She went on the premise that a person could become " crampy " from a type of food they ate and if in the water, it would be risky having cramps and trying to stay afloat. That's my take on it for what it's worth. As far as the hot tub goes, I've never heard anything about that. Judy **************Check all of your email inboxes from anywhere on the web. Guest guest
Hi kids, I noticed that no one knows why we should not go into the hot water and according to my mom, not the cold pool or ocean for that matter, either. Hehe! I'm a nibbler and am nibbling all day long. I guess I can never find a time when it is best for me to take a shower. I guess I'll have to give up a meal now and then. I wonder if this is just an old wives tale or is there really something behind that " wait 30 minutes after eating before going in the water " , story! Does anyone out there know anything more about this? And Cooky, thank you for all the stuff you send out. You are a wealth of information. Guest guest
Hi Jud! I heard the same thing also at Beach when I was young. I have photos of myself as a skinny little kid who just wanted to go into the water, so I refused the sandwich which was offered. Those days were our Sunday picnics. Glad you got a laugh! Often wonder where these tales come from. Hehe! Take care.
