Guest guest
Dear Val, I have finally found a place that does cortisol saliva tests. (It's too late for me, but I want to do this for my husband). However, there is a problem, but it may not be insurmountable. The test is carried out on a one off basis. That is you pay per one spit. It would theoretically be possible to do four of these, but I am not sure about what happens to the upper and lower limits. For a normal 4 x saliva test I expect that the upper and lower limits would be different according to the time of day. If I got back 4 results without upper and lower limits or with meaningless upper and lower limits would you still be able to make some sense of them? For other forum members living in continental Europe : I can also see that there will be great organisational problems with submitting 4 tests from the same person on the same day if the lab is not used to that and that they might screw up which order the samples are in, but I will probably work something out. Any suggestions gratefully received. There is only one lab that does this in France and it is in Lyon which is miles away from where I live. They have a collection system whereby you go to a local lab to give your samples in, then this lab sends it on to the other lab in Lyon in the appropriate conditions for the sample not to deteriorate. If there is anyone in Belgian looking for this kind of test I advise them to nip over the border to a lab in France to get it done if it can't be done in Belgian. 120 € (30€ x 4). It is sent to BIOMNIS in Lyon. They have a subsidiary in Switzerland.
