Subject: rheumatic dry eyes and collagen 1 & 3

Hi gang,

I finally found a new opthalmalogist and went for the plugs in my tear

ducts. This guy was good but treated me like I had never had plugs and

did

not know anything about dry eyes. He only put in one plug.he said to see

if

it was the plug that helped my symptoms or the other things he suggested

(very strongly). I think it was to get another payment from my health

insurance.

He said I definitely had dry eyes (duh) and probably was from my

rheumatoid

but I also had rosacea of the eye lids and face. I assumed this but know

there is no cure.

He suggested. as I already do. the lid scrubs with baby shampoo and

stressed warm to hot compresses 2 times a day. He said to open some of

the

glands that are clogged from the eye fluids.

He also suggested 2 new OTC drops. One was OPTIVE moisturizing dry eye

solution and the other I can't remember.

The reason I am writing this is because of the collagen 1 & 3 powder I

have

been taking. About the 6 week time I found I had no more dry eye

symptoms(yes I still went for the plugs) and I was waking up with less

and

less morning eye crunches. I hate to jinx me but I am also pain free in

my

neck and back. I was outside with hubby raking dirt for our garden and

the

next morning I paid for it with a bad " spot " in my back. Usually this

takes

a while to get resolved with a lot of pressure point done by hubby. The

next

morning I woke with no pain and did not even get a back rub the day

before.

I am not pushing the product but will keep reporting any other good

effects.

For cosmetic results please write to me personally.

Hi ,

I get it at iherb and it is a powder called Neocell collagen 1 & 3. Cheep.only

$12.

I first heard about it thru QVC's beauty group. It is a bunch of women that

are interested in beauty products. One of the women started talking about

this type of collagen. I used Collagen# 2 many years ago when I was first

dxed with rheumatoid and I did not think it did much good but I guess there

is a way to use it that works. Anyway I kept reading her notes and other

people joined her by buying this stuff. They started reporting softer and

more firm facial skin. Then they started to say they had had their husbands

on it for joint and muscle pain. ( I must tell you we are also on

Astaxanthin which is an antioxidant that is supposto be good for arthritis

pain so I am not sure which one is really doing the job..but I was on this

long before I felt pain relief.). It took about 6 weeks but I do feel my

pain is going away in places like my neck . I put hubby on the astaxanthin

because he would not use the powder.

These people do not sell the stuff. They are just ordinary people who found

something they thot others would benefit from.

Good luck if you try it!

I'm trying it infact I've all ready ordered it. I have dry eyes, Ra and

glaucoma. I have done so well for so long, then this winter I've had a

variety of pains, not sure if it's the RA, the snow shoveling or a couple

stupid accidents, but I while I'd like to tihnk it's something else my

wrists say it's the RA so I hope this stuff helps. Doing nice things for my

skin would be nice too.

Thanks Cooky.

I tried collagen before without success but it wasn't this same one, i will look

into this one. Has the antibiotic therapy helped anyone here with their dryness?

i quit it a while back for a year but sometimes wonder if I should start again

due to lack of options.

Vicki, I want to tell you and Debbie,

The doc I saw yesterday explained when you have dry eyes you need the whole

lot of OMEGA 's...which is omega 3-6-9. I always do just omega 3 because I

was told we already get 6 and 9 in our food. He said not always.

I also started the astaxanthin and specifically BioAstin. I take 8 mgm and

eyes are the reason I started taking it. So many people on that site were

talking about it and they also said it helped joints. AS I said I put hubby

on it for his aches and pains. So I am not sure if it is the collagen or

astaxanthin. I take both. Also it took about six weeks.

How do we find out which helped you? i am trying to take as little as possible

as most things only overload my liver without helping anything. My eyes are way

I would go for the Bioastin first. It is specifically for eyes. And use Mild

Thistle for your liver.
