Guest guest
The first things we eliminated were casein ( all forms of milk) and gluten ( all grass grains). Gave ph the first solid stool in his 2 1/2 years. stomach issues My son is currently 3.5yr old and been diagnosed with autism shortly after turning 3. His behavior is excellent and we have made great cognitive gains while starting ABA. His communication is good at sign language. My issue now is things like loose stools, gassy and returning reflux. We just went to the alergist and Logan is not allergic to anything so that can't be an issue. He eats anything you put in front of him, so as far as elimination, I am not sure what to eliminate. If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Thank you so much. I am on a limited income due to being a stay at home single mom only on SSI and Child Support. Guest guest
From: " Beth Fletcher " <kbf23@...> I've been having diahrea every day, mostly in the mornings after my first meal. I'm usually ok after that, but sometimes I will have it two or three times a day. I'm already taking probiotics and L-Glutamine. What else can I do to help this? I know I've got to get it under control. For starters, you might try taking a heaping teaspoon of pysillium in a glass of water one or two times daily to bulk up the stool, take digestive enzymes (that include HCL) with all meals and double or even triple probiotic dose. Wal-Mart sells a generic pysillium equal to and cheaper than Metamucil. It's called Equate. NOW brand has a reasonably good and inexpensive digestive enzyme with the HCL. Ethel I upped my dosage from M-W-F to everyday three months ago. This was the first time I saw any progress with my joints, so I really don't want to back off the antibiotics right now. Guest guest
Hi, Beth: You could have some complications and consider seeing a doctor; some physicians might combine the use of Flagyl with conventional antibiotics, depending upon the situation. Guest guest
For the past two + years, I've had off and on again diarrhea like Beth described I also kept changing and rotating my antibiotics. Dr. took cultures of the stool and there was no growth. I backed off dairy products for a while. That helped sometimes. But I could never put my finger on the cause. Suddenly, I went a week without diarrhea, then it would return. That pattern remained for the next 6 months or so. I am noticing that the time without diarrhea is now being extended. I can go three to four weeks and then have it return for a day or two and then return to normal stools again. I had my blood work done last week. Not only is my ANA normal, so is my RF normal. I have diabetes which had been out of control for a while. Now it is totally normal, as is the cholesterol and triglycerol count. If I hadn't been so sick since 2005, you would never believe that I have scleroderma from the looks of my lab work. So, I'm thinking.  Did the diarrhea episodes have anything to do with my body getting rid of the micoplasmas, I was so full of. The only way to find out now is to have a repeat complete micoplasma count. I will ask the doctor for that on my next visit and let you all know. They were right. Getting better was and is a long slow process. And during the course, there were times when I got discouraged. I recently re-read Dr. Brown's book and the frequently asked questions. Apparently when the blood work returns to normal, then we should reduce the antibiotics to MWF. I just did. Will keep you all posted and let you know. Thank you all for your continued support, questions and answers. This is a wonderful site. I feel very close to all of you even tho' I haven't met most of you.  Dolores & Mike now from Vieques, Puerto Rico. From: Beth Fletcher <kbf23 (DOT) com> Subject: rheumatic stomach issues rheumatic@grou ps.com Date: Wednesday, January 20, 2010, 8:23 AM  I've been having diahrea every day, mostly in the mornings after my first meal. I'm usually ok after that, but sometimes I will have it two or three times a day. I'm already taking probiotics and L-Glutamine. What else can I do to help this? I know I've got to get it under control.  I upped my dosage from M-W-F to everyday three months ago. This was the first time I saw any progress with my joints, so I really don't want to back off the antibiotics right now.  Thanks
Guest guest
Dear Beth, In late November, my daughter, who has S.D. and M.S., had an 11-day series of clindamycin infusions. About four days ago, she began to have diarrhea--as you described, after the first meal of the day--and also blood in the stool and an awful gel-like discharge. (Sorry if this is so graphic!) We saw her orthopaedic surgeon today. (He recently did hip reconstruction for her and also snipped the tendons in her legs to ease the tightness in them.) While we had his attention, we described what she is presently experiencing with the diarrhea, etc., and he immediately said it sounded like C-difficile. He prescribed Flagyl. I don't know, of course, if this is what you have, but it's a possibility. Dr. ph Sentef, her original antibiotic protocol doctor, always prescribed Flagyl along with the minocycline, so you might ask your doctor if this is something you should do, along with a good pribiotic. Guest guest
Yes, when I was having the diarrhea problems, my doc also checked me for C-diciffile and that came back negative. But deffinitely have that checked also. Good luck with this problem. It seems to be a common one. I bet there is an answer why we all get this type of diarrhea. Lots of love to your daughter. Hope she gets better sooner. Dolores & Mike From: Beth Fletcher <kbf23 (DOT) com> Subject: rheumatic stomach issues rheumatic@grou ps.com Date: Wednesday, January 20, 2010, 8:23 AM I've been having diahrea every day, mostly in the mornings after my first meal. Guest guest
I actually already take Flagyl daily. I see Dr. Sentef and this is part of his protocol. I am supposed to see him next month, so I will definitely bring it up with him and see what he recommends. I will also be asking about C-dif and the possibility of adding psyllium. Does anyone know if aloe vera juice may help? Thanks again for all your advice and replies. I had the that feeling like someone drained all my energy out of me, but mine was right after I had the surgery--with in the 1st month. I found out that my potassium was low. It was an easy fix- they gave me potassium pills to take and I still take them. I had problems holding my curling iron and felt a little dizzy too. I have had the stomach that gurgles too. Sometimes something warm in my stomach helped--like a warm cup of decaf tea. Popsicles also helped me with the gurgling. Sometimes it is gas, so use some Gas-X. I have been constipated and so I use Miralax everyday with my protein drink. That seems to help a whole lot. I am not doctor, so that is why I suggest you go see you doctor. That would be the best place to start. I can only comment on what I have been through. Hang in there, and hugs,Suzanne
