Guest guest
I sent this e-mail (a similar one) yesterday but it hasn't appeared in the group so I'll try again. I am going to get blood draw on Monday to test thyroid, but i will also like to test sex hormones as soon as possible, because I think they are not right. However I have quite a few questions about how to proceed. 1. Can I test now or should I wait for them to respond (?) to the rT3 clearance? 2. Previously (in a fertility clinic) I had tested estradiol, progesterone, testosterone and free testosterone. Should I test the same now? 3. I also had tested LH and FSH, should I test this ones too? 4. In the fertility clinic I had sex hormones tested day 21 of the cycle. Should I do the same now? Hope I can ask this questions since they are not directly on rT3... Thanks a lot,
Guest guest
1. Can I test now or should I wait for them to respond (?) to the rT3 clearance? A) YOu can but they may change after your RT3 clears as T3 affects them. 2. Previously (in a fertility clinic) I had tested estradiol, progesterone, testosterone and free testosterone. Should I test the same now? A) Those would be the ones ot test 3. I also had tested LH and FSH, should I test this ones too? A) Not really necessary unless lookign for pituitary problems. 4. In the fertility clinic I had sex hormones tested day 21 of the cycle. Should I do the same now? A) Yes -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
If I/we are interpreting things right, rT3 cleared a few days ago. So I wonder if it is still too early to test in this " first " cycle or better to wait, say, to the next (just got my period today so I would test in 21 days, that would mean almost a month since rT3 cleared and my temps went up). Thank you very, very much, > 1. Can I test now or should I wait for them to respond (?) to the rT3 clearance? > > A) YOu can but they may change after your RT3 clears as T3 affects them. Guest guest
Thanks Suzanne, this is most interesting! I was actually wondering because my cycles vary a bit (from 28 to 32 days usually). However I am taking my basal temperatures and I can tell when I ovulate (or rather when my temps rise), so I was wondering wether to test calculating from that. I was wondering if I could calculate how many days after the temperature rise is the right day to test... have you made those calculations? thanks a lot, > > > > > > > ________________________________ > > To: RT3_T3 > Sent: Thu, March 18, 2010 5:23:02 AM > Subject: Re: Could this be the beggining of a breackthrough? I think they recommend testing hormones on the 21st day of your cycle because of a progesterone peak at that time. However, that is based on a " typical " 28 day cycle. My cycles run about 26 days so my prog. peak happens a little earlier in my cycle. Because of this I have blood drawn around days 19 or 20. So you might try to figure what your average cycle lenght is and determine the best day for a blood draw. Good luck >
Guest guest
Hi , Well, if you know for sure when you ovulate it can be helpful in determining the length of that cycle. You will always start your period 14 after ovulation, assuming you have a normal luteal phase, that should always stay the same with all women (again assuming they have a normal luteal phase). So once you ovulate then count 14 days from then and that should tell you when to expect your period. Once you know the length of that cycle you can determine when to test that month. Fro example, if you ovulate on day 14 you will have a 28 day cycle. Testing would be bestt on day 21. If you ovulate on day 16 you can assume your cycle will be 30 days. Then it would be best to test around day 23. If you ovulate around day 18 your cycle would start 14 days later at day 32. Your progesterone peak then would be closer to day 25.
