Ok, I made a poll about the subject. My thinking is that has to be

changed for a couple reasons:

1. Someone at the very start of the thread related a story about

confidantly telling a farmer that " Calves fed pastuerized milk die

before maturity " and he responed by saying that's what all his cows

got and they're doing just fine. Is he ever going to believe anything

she says about, or that WAP/Realmilk.com says about nutrition?

If raw milk gets to be a big issue via word of mouth, then

realmilk.com will be one of the main sites. And when its a big issue

the big dairy farms will take notice. Since all the big dairy farms

are feeding milk replacer, they will immediately assume its bunk.

2. Carmen wrote an eccellent post with many references showing that

calves fed pastuerized milk do not die before maturity if fed

pastuerized milk. It was a more thorough presentation than the

arguments made against it. I still haven't seen an actual peer-

reviewed reference for a study showing that calves fed pasteurized

milk die before maturity.

3. Regardless of the study, millions of dairy cows have been raised

on pastuerized milk (since milk replacer has been heat treated, spray

dried etc...)

I configured the poll to expire on April 14th. I think that if the

majority vote to remove it, that we should email the results to Sally

to request having the statement changed.

What are your thoughts?
