Guest guest
Hi Shari, I live off highway 101 near the Avenue of the Giants. (Garberville, Redway, Miranda) I just moved up here one year ago from Los Angeles where I was born and raised. My husband and I wanted to raise our three boys in a country enviroment. The city was so fast paced for us, it seemed as though we were losing perspective on things. This area is alot more condusive to the needs our our three boys. I do feel very isolated though. It would take 4 hours to drive down south to San Francisco or hour north to Arcata. (The nearest Airports) If you can call Arcata-Mckinnlyville an airport. So if I decide to have the MGB procedure, air travel will be an interesting aspect for me. Ha! Ha! Thanks for responding to my posting earlier. Guest guest
Lori, You are definitely in an awesome beautiful area of this world. I have driven through Garberville so many times going up and back. It is an isolated area in a lot of ways though. And you are right, air travel is tough - those little planes out of Acata that fly down to SFO are not my favorite. I have flown it a few times when I weighed less. I have to say that when I looked at my house the first time, I was drawn to it because I have a 40+ redwood in the backyard. It takes me to a comfort zone of my childhood (of course I didn't have to rake up all the stuff that falls off the trees) Good luck in your journey for the MGB.
