Guest guest
>>>While mentioning Liver and what helps it, don't forget T3! T3 regenerates liver cells!<<<< Well of course Val! T3 is good for EVERYTHING!!! You don't have to sell it to me. My ENTIRE family is on T3 & doing much better for it too. I guess I took that as a 'given' seeing we are a T3 group after all Lethal Lee
Guest guest
Lethal Lee, Thank you SO much. I will work on getting some of the supplements that I am not currently taking and reading up on the info you posted. I didn't realize that fatty liver can heal and glad that yours has. I don't know if you have a medical background or not, but not having one slows the process of getting well down, being that it takes me longer to understand what is going on and what to do. Thanks again, Deb in MI > Here are a couple of good refs on Liver > > http://www.healthsystem.virginia.edu/uvahealth/adult_liver/tests.cfm > http://pie.med.utoronto.ca/VLiver/VLiver_content/VLiver_interactiveLiver.html > > http://www.lef.org/protocols/prtcl-125.shtml > Corticosteroids (eg. HC) are mentioned on page 2. > Note the protocols on page 3 include > CoQ10 (make sure it's active Ubiquinol form), Selenium (Garlic is high in Selenium), Vit C (I avoid as it increases Iron absorption). > > I should have mentioned that I had history of elevated Liver enzymes & had imaging showing Adenoma or Hemangioma on my Liver. I also had a special MRI called a Ferriscan to check on amount of Iron in my Liver (due to Hemochromatosis). Fortunately it was normal. > > I have to have repeat Liver U/S imaging & blood tests every 6 months. Several times imaging showed Fatty Liver & abdominal ascites. Glad to say that ascites & Fatty Liver are gone. Last scan in Nov'09 they couldn't find the Hemangioma at all! > > I also had my Gallbladder removed in March 2000 which is what caused an abrupt change in my health & the start of what I know now was AI & a worsening of Autoimmune Thyroid (I suspect I had it after each pregnancy). > > Lethal Lee > >
Guest guest
, As best as you remember when you were reducing the T3, did you get odd symptoms, such as temps dropping a lot (as in down to 97.2 at 4 PM)? And BP as well? (114/44). I am trying to cut back to 100 mcg or so and see how it goes, but my temps and averages seem to falling not rising. This finding the optimal dose thing is problematic. Thanks for any help, Deb in MI > Hi Deb >  > I may be totally wrong in my thoughts here but I thought I would throw in my two cents.  I have been on T3 only for a year now as well.  I had some trouble back in December with having a FT3 range near 6.0 and my temps just would not get up. I kept feeling so Hypo, hair loss, dry skin, etc.etc. during this time and wondered why since my FT3 was so good.  My T4 and my RT3 were also low....everything seemed perfect. B-12, ferritin, vit D was all good. So why was I feeling so bad.  Well, come to find out I was taking too much T3. I was also in that range that you are in at present, 100-125mcg of T3.  I was also noticing that whenever I took my HC that my temps would fall as well.  So, I slowly slowly weaned off of my HC.  I have also lowered my T3 to between 81.25 -87.5 and my temps are very steady now.  I don't know about your history so I'm just not sure if this might be something you might try but I just thought I would > give you my scenario in the possibility that you have come to that point in your treatment as well.  Just something more to ponder, sorry. Once I came off of the HC I waited a good two weeks, if not more, and re-tested my adrenals and they did show that they were healing.  Oh, I also had the thickened skin and it is slowly, slowly getting better. >  >
