Guest guest
Hello all you good people! Ya know...I'm the first to whine and complain when things don't go my way, but today I want to tell you about the wonderful week I've had! First it probably started off about 2 weeks ago when I got that word that I was approved for my reconstructive surgery. I exhibited amazing self control and didn't harass the insurance lady at the plastic surgeons office. I simply called her to tell about the approval and left the rest to her. Well she called me on Tuesday and gave me a date for surgery, August 9th. Pretty good, huh? My boss gave me $1 raise....just for now (her words!) with the promise of more to come. She's more than willing to give me the time off I need to recover and also will allow me to work from home on a laptop. I have the best boss! I've been having an ongoing problem with Sprint PCS. Readers Digest version, I dropped a new phone I bought in Nov and unbeknownst to me, caused an opening in the housing. When I took it for repair, the hussy (sorry, CSR who oh so politely took care of me) voided my warranty and told me, " you need to buy a new phone! " Well, I've been pitching a fit about this for about a month. Finally found out about the retention department and they just send me out a new (reconditioned) phone, credited my bill for 2 months, and also added another $35 credit for the activation fee. Then I gave my hubby's old phone to my niece. We both got a $30 credit for that and an addition $10 for the referral! So I got about $100 worth of free service, and a new phone! Then Dr Fisher emailed me last night....and this is pretty big stuff..... Some of you may remember that I did a little piece on the local news with him in the fall. Well they (channel 13) are starting a new series that they want to sell to the network. It's a health show (formatted like Oprah I'm told.) Well anyhow, they contacted Doc, asked him to be a part of it and specifically asked for me too! So I guess I must have been somewhat coherent! They will show this show 7 times locally, twice in prime time and believe that the network will pick it up in the fall. WOW! So now of course, I'm stressing over what to wear, how to do my hair, etc. And what if I'm just a stammering idiot? I am a blonde you know...Polish too! So it seems like finally my life is pulling itself together. In some ways it's like waiting for the other shoe to drop. I want to relax and enjoy this ride.....and I may take a chance and do just that! I'll post more about dates and times when I have it. And as always....thanks so much to you all for listening (or reading) my ramblings! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Sue in Las Vegas Open RNY 10/26/98 From 500 lbs to 174!
