Guest guest
Hi Ros, Interesting... my AP doc charged me $250 for the first consult but i don't know what the next one will be. The mycoplasma test is $240. It sure gets expensive esp if you're on a pension, so it must be hard for you. I don't see how prescribing AP for RA can be illegal. What's illegal and immoral is those horrible toxic drugs the docs palm off onto people, instead of investigating less harmful therapies. I went to my GP the other day to get celebrex and told her about the AP and how i was going to get started on it. She didn't even respond. I don't get doctors at all. You'd think they might be interested in ways that might help people get better. I suppose they live in fear of being shunned by the medical community if they deviate from their path. Best, Leonie rheumatic Re: Hi I live in Byron Bay and have RA and have been using AP for 18 months. My local GP prescribes the minocycline for me even though it's not approved for RA in this country. My rheumatologist in Ballina actually said it's illegal to prescribe it for RA in Australia. Nevertheless, it can be done if you find the right doctor. My GP of a dr in Ballina, Hayter, 66859199, who uses AP but he charges $350 for the first appointment (one and a half hours), $250 for the second, and I don't know after that. The prices were way out of my league (being on a pension) so I haven't seen him. I haven't found anyone else in this area who knows anything about AP. I tried educating my dr but he's not very interested - too busy I think. He did look at Scammell's book but didn't have much to say about it. If you or your client want to phone me and chat about it all my number is 6685 8849. Ros I am practising in Northern NSW in Alstonville (near Lismore).
