I owuld probably suggest abotu 60mcg . I htink you have needed adrenal support for a while and have been fighting it so that may be why it has built so high in the boood too. If oyu arento able to utilize ti it sits in the blood and pools lioking very high as yours does. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/

Dropping T3 before starting Cortef is sensible, otherwise the Cortef can suddenly transfer the T3 that's pooling in the blood into your cells.. The FT3 may be above range but you may not be hypER if the T3 is not getting into the cells due to lack of cortisol, you can be hypo at a cellular level and have a high FT3 easily. That T3 drop is OK for a day, maybe 2, but you will need to come up once you have come cortisol in you. You may need to come up quite quickly as you have no backup T4. What level has the Dr started you on Cortef at? Nick -- for more information on RT3 and Thyroid Resistance go to www.thyroid-rt3.com

Guest guest
Thanks, Val! Then, since I am starting Cortef (from Isocort) tonight (2.5mg) I might 'hyper' if any of the T3 is sitting in my blood? I am dropping to 50mcg T3 tomorrow and see how I do. Doc has me using Cortef 10mg in morning and 5mg lunch time. That is it. I took Isocort 5,3,2,1. > > FREE T3 7.75 (2.3-4.2) > > FREE T4 0.42 (0.89-1.76) > > TSH 0.012 (.350-5.50) > > I agree you are a bit hyperthyroid but ai think cutting ot 37.5mcg is overkill.
