Guest guest
This happened to me and it lasted a couple of years. Yes, the CLO has blood-thinning properties so you should avoid it and any other medicine that thins blood i.e., apsirin, ibupropen... Mine was all the time, not around period time. Dr. suspected it was caused by a virus (had been sick a couple months before it started) and it finally went away after about 2 yrs.! Guest guest
, I've also had this problem. Small, shallow bruises on my inner forearms. I had it with MTX but not so much since switching to Humira. I had low platelets a few times, but not always at the same time as the bruising problem. My rheumy didn't seem too worried about the bruising, so I try not to worry about it either. regards, sherry z
Guest guest
I take 325mg of aspirin each day and that is where my bruising comes from. They are little blood vessels in your arms which react to the blood thinning and leak. Are you taking aspirin?? Good Luck Walt
Guest guest
Nope, no aspirin here. The only medications I've taken consistently throughout all bruising episodes are prednisone and Lodine. I take Baclofen prn for pain (I also have a torn disk) and I take Robaxin at bedtime to help me sleep. Other than that, it's just the occasional tylenol for a headache. Oh, and Nexium for reflux. My rheumy and doctor did speculate that maybe it was a platelet issue, but by the time the blood was drawn it had corrected. It's just a little concerning to see bruises pop up in the same places time after time. I've recently noticed them on my thighs, near my knees. I'm watching to see if they recur as well, as I don't recall hitting anything.
Guest guest
I have been on MTX for many years now and the bruising is now a none issue. I don't know if that's normal or not, or perhaps I am use to it? The most recent 'unexplained' bruising is related to extreme inflammation in my feet. When I have a flare in one or both of my feet I will get small bruises on the foot. Does anyone else have this? -Eileen
Guest guest
, I had a lot of bruising after a bad reaction to Enbrel. Large marks on my legs and side. I think the doctor thought someone beat me. I told him I thought it was from scratching the rash from Enbrel. SD
Guest guest
, I am so glad you brought this up. I woke up Saturday with a huge bruise on my forearm and no idea how it got there. It hurts so bad too. Then I found one on my knee. I am off the MTX until I get my tooth pulled and healed this week. I am anxious to see what others say now. Guest guest
I do bruise a lot easier since I have been taking Enbrel, but the gains are worth the tender skin I now have. Danny
Guest guest
Tami and , I used to get small bruises on my forearms when I was taking MTX. Sometimes this coincided with low platelets on my blood work results. I didn't figure it was anything to worry about, though. " S. Guest guest
Hi this is funny because I woke twice already with a bruise and asked my husband " where did I get this from I don't remember banging it. " And it is on the inside of my arm below my elbow but above my wrist, and yes it did hurt. I am not on MTX as yet and I am having a real hard time with my hands and the out break on my head feels like a bumpy country road. Guest guest
I think the bruising must be unique to each individual - I've not noticed any bruising at all since being on Enbrel for the past 18 months. No side effects, no injection site reactions, nothing . . . . . Just back to feeling " normal " again!  Joanna Hoelscher

Guest guest
I was talking about bruising all over your body. I did sublingual. My hands and arms and legs get bruises way too easily. I was standing on my feet all day Saturday and that night my ankles were swollen and bruised, I could hardly walk. My friends daughter in law is doing this too and she is bruising. She had blood work done and everything came back normal. But it doesn't seem normal to bruise so easily to me. Guest guest
I did have a couple of bruises when injecting in the beginning. I did all my injections in my thighs and what helped me is 1- Do not push the needle syringe to quickly – do it slower 2- I switched from one thigh to the other each day 3- Also very the area from higher up to lower or mid thigh This really eliminated the bruises for me. Guest guest
Trudy,Bruising can be caused by a lot of things... let the doctor know this is going on. It is a medical symptom and I'm not about to blurt out what is coming to mind right now, cause hopefully I am way off. Just call the doc and let him know. It can also come from sleepwalking and bumping into things or just being a clutz! There are a few medical issues that cause bruising... call the doctor. Please. Guest guest
TrudyThe funny thing is that I've been having a similar problem. I'm pretty sure that it's some kind of blood deficiency and because this used to happen to me a lot, I always took Vitamin C for it. The reason I started that was because a Dr. had given me a script for the bruising and I had to tell the Pharmacist that I simply could not afford it. That's when he told me that the leading ingredient in the script was Vitamin C. This time I think I'll go and buy a whole bag of oranges and maybe just use my juicer.By the way - back when I was still on treatment, I had this weird habit of falling out of bed. Don't ask me why - it would just happen!! Well, one time, I noticed a humongous bruise on my back and for the life of me didn't know why. So off to the Dr. I go!! She didn't want to give me anything then because of being on treatment; however, was I ever embarrassed a day or two later, when I suddenly remembered that I'd fallen out of bed and somehow had really landed hard up against the open closet door.Gloria Any one have any clues about severe , very frequent bruising? Could it be lack of nutrition or adrenal problems? Just wondering if they will ever fill back in. +++Hi Gail, Bruising in anyone whether they have candida or not is caused by lack of " proper nutrition. " Since you've had bruising in the past your body will be retracing it while it is healing itself - look up " retracing " on my website if you haven't read it before. Sunk-in cheeks is also lack of nutrition. Your body will borrow nutrients from itself when it lacks proper nutrition, so the result can be sunk-in cheeks, loss of muscle mass, etc. Adrenals alone do not cause any health issues, but they too will be unhealthy and not able to function properly due to lack of nutrition, too many toxins, etc., etc. - the same 4 things that cause ALL health problems.
