Guest guest
You wil lbe unlikely to tolerate enough T3 to feel well unless oyu get that ferritin up. 50 is a minimum I have seen and 70-90 is preferable. I also doubt strongly that 5mg HC ois going ot even tough your adrenal fatigue. Ferritin and adrenals may be your worst problems as you do nto have any of the markers for hypothyroidism and the high Rt3 may just be duye to low cortils and low ferritin. Most hypothyroid people have high cholesterole and triglycerides. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/
Guest guest
Hi again. You have said that I am not hypothyroid. Perhaps I should have also mentioned that I recorded my temps per the chart and ended up with a consistent daily average under 97.5? Basal is running in the 96.5 range +/- 0.2. Not very much fluctuation throughout the day--less than 0.2 normally. Also when I calculate my FT3/RT3 ratio I get 8.4 (although I think the formula in the attached docs are off by a factor of 10 as per below unless I am doing something wrong???) and it should be 20. Could the low temps also be caused by adrenal and/or cortisol malfunction? ********************************* FT3 pg/dL RT3 pg/mL These results need to be changed so that the ratio is correct. Multiply FT3 by 100 then divide FT3 by RT3. Ex. FT3 397, RT3 474 (397 × 100) ÷ 474 = 8.3 397 x 100 = 39,700 / 474 = 83.75 NOT 8.3 ********************************* Could the ferritin have been impacted by the non-fasting state, the time of day (5:00pm) or the fact that I had my period the prior week? I have started iron supplementation at 170mg of elemental iron per day. I have also been put on two adrenal supplements by my doc, primary ingredient in the am is bovine adrenal concentrate and in the pm are ashwaganda root, skullcap, and phosphatidylserine. Both also contain siberian ginseng and rhodiola rosea root, for what it's worth. I haven't noticed any impact from the current dose of T3 but then I am not taking much yet (20mcg). I am monitoring both temp and heartrate and will be alert for any changes. I will also have the ferritin retested after a month on the iron. Not sure about the cholesterol and TG numbers but I follow a low carb (~50g per day), moderate protein (~65g per day) diet and have eliminated all grains, sugars and processed foods. I also eat a LOT of saturated fat so maybe those two things have helped balance it. If anyone has any thoughts on the supplements, I'm all ears. I'm going to keep on the T3 unless I start to feel adverse effects. I retest everything in 7 weeks so that should give me some time to see if the therapy has any impact. Thanks. in LA > > You wil lbe unlikely to tolerate enough T3 to feel well unless oyu get > that ferritin up. 50 is a minimum I have seen and 70-90 is preferable.
