Guest guest
A month ago my temps went up (after 12 weeks of T3 only) and after a few days I had a blood draw. I was on 75 T3 and 30 HC and the lab results were: TSH: less than 0.005 uU/ml (0.5-5) Free T4: 0.21 ng/dl (0.8-2.2) Total T3: 5.45 ng/ml (0.8-1.8) Free T3 : 10.37 pg/ml (1.8-4.2) I went down to 50 T3 and 32 HC and my newest labs are: TSH: less than 0.005 uU/ml (0.5-5) Total T4: 6.60 ug/dl (4.5-12) Free T4: 0.24 ng/dl (0.8-2.2) Total T3: 3.84 ng/ml (0.8-1.8) Free T3 : 7.05 pg/ml (1.8-4.2) I wonder if this labs are still hyper and should go down with T3 a little more. Since I went down from 75 to 50 T3, pulse rate has gone down (although I think is still highish, right now 92) and temps have remained were they where. Temps are not too high, pre-ovulation temps are about 36.5 (97.7) and post-ovulation temps are about 36.8 (98.2), but clearly higher than they were before the " breackthrough " . I do feel better with the dose reduction (I was extremely tired and sleepy), greater sense of well-being and less tired, although I feel still depresed (and have OCD) and have quite a few symptoms which I think are low thyroid (like dry eyes, and some lingering back and wrist pain). My sight is not very good either (growing myopia/blurry vision). So, I am all confused, can I still have low thyroid symptoms after temps went up and with this labs? Thanks a lot,
Guest guest
Try reducing HC. JUst a small reduction of 2.5mg btu if I am right your temps wil joggle UP in a few days after that reduction. If the slightest indication of a higher temp happens you knwo you need ot reduce HC further. -- http://nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/
Guest guest
O.K., I will! I understand then that I should continue with the present T3 dose (50 cynomel). Aren't the labs still a bit on the high side? TSH: less than 0.005 uU/ml (0.5-5) Total T4: 6.60 ug/dl (4.5-12) Free T4: 0.24 ng/dl (0.8-2.2) Total T3: 3.84 ng/ml (0.8-1.8) Free T3 : 7.05 pg/ml (1.8-4.2) Many, many thanks! > > Try reducing HC. Guest guest
And up they have gone!!! It is miraculous... I have reduced HC from 32.5 to 30 and also reduced T3 from 50 to 37.5 (labs very still hyper) and my basal temps have gone up quite noticeably (0.1-0.2 C). I am now at 36.6 (97.8). Does this mean I should continue reducing HC? and if so how much? I take now 10 + 7.5 + 7.5 + 5, from which dose should I reduce? I am actually feeling better and better, it goes slowly, but I feel optimistic at last! Tons of thanks, > > Try reducing HC. Guest guest
I have reduced T3 from 50 to 37.5 and these are the changes in labs: 50 T3: TSH: less than 0.005 uU/ml (0.5-5) Total T4: 6.60 ug/dl (4.5-12) Free T4: 0.24 ng/dl (0.8-2.2) Total T3: 3.84 ng/ml (0.8-1.8) Free T3 : 7.05 pg/ml (1.8-4.2) 37,5 T3: TSH: less than 0.005 uU/ml (0.5-5) Total T4: 12.70 ug/dl (4.5-12) Free T4: 0.27 ng/dl (0.8-2.2) Total T3: 3.11 ng/ml (0.8-1.8) Free T3 : 5.36 pg/ml (1.8-4.2) How does this look? I am worried about total T4 being above range????!!!! What does this mean? I don't understand... What about T3? thanks,

Guest guest
There is something very weird about these labs. Free T4 is below range, so how can total T4 be above range??? My T4 was never particularly high before (not before any thyroid treatment, or with synthroid or Armour), and free T4 and total T4 were correlated but these last two labs don't make any sense to me. I am inclined to believe is a mistake from the laboratory. If I had graves, wouldn't free T4 be correlated with total T4? Would I just suddenly develop Graves? 50 T3: TSH: less than 0.005 uU/ml (0.5-5) Total T4: 6.60 ug/dl (4.5-12) Free T4: 0.24 ng/dl (0.8-2.2) Total T3: 3.84 ng/ml (0.8-1.8) Free T3 : 7.05 pg/ml (1.8-4.2) 37,5 T3: TSH: less than 0.005 uU/ml (0.5-5) Total T4: 12.70 ug/dl (4.5-12) Free T4: 0.27 ng/dl (0.8-2.2) Total T3: 3.11 ng/ml (0.8-1.8) Free T3 : 5.36 pg/ml (1.8-4.2) > > Iwould be havign a test for Graves antibodies. Guest guest
Yes you can suddenly deveolp Graves just as you cna Hashi's. Whta does correlate is a high T3 and High T4 and your dose of T3 is not enough to warrant that high T3 either which makjes the high T4 believeable. That your FT4 is lower indicates binding, probabyl high SHBG -- http://nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/

Guest guest
Thanks Val, but I really don't want to believe any of this... I was so happy my temps were rising for the first time and I was feeling better. Guest guest
Thanks a lot Val for everything. I will repeat the labs somewhere else, just to make sure it is not a mistake. It is not only weird that I should get such high T4, I still can't believe that free T4 should be below range, while total T4 is above range. Particularly since the levels of free T3 and total T3 go " in parallel " . I have had lots of thyroid labs and never seen total T4 and free T4 go " in opposite ways " , they were always " in parallel " in respect to their respective ranges. If I get the same results in the other laboratory, then I will have no choice but to believe them. Then I will see what I have to do. Many thanks again, > > Well the onyl other possible scenario I can think of is pooling which > would mean you need a WHOLE lot more HC but that doesn;t make sense wiht > T4 going up while oin T3 only.
