Guest guest
Hello, my last bloods in January this year showed: RT3 - 454 pmol/L FT3 - 5.8 pmol/L Sodium - 138mmol/L (135 - 145) Potassium - 3.8mmol/L (3.5 - 5.5) Ferritin - 24 ug/L (15 - 200) From above, it seems like I certainly have a RT3 problem. I have lowered my NTH (compounded) to 2 grains a day (was up to 4.5 grains at one stage but never really had complete relief from my symptoms. My HR was crazy and although I seemed to have a short period where I felt good I was quickly feeling pretty horrid again. I also asked for cortisol salivary tests as I had felt like after a year on HC that my cortisol levels were now too high (I had already started to taper down from 28mg/day). Sure enough my results showed I was high in all 4 times of the day...out of the range for each one. So, I decided to further taper (about 2mg every 12 days or so) down to nothing as of one week ago. With each taper the 'buzzyness and sense of feeling wired/anxious got better, but in the last week with being on nothing I have suffered: - terrible headaches(like a tight band at the back of my head - sense of right side of body feeling heavy/moving slowly - muscle cramps - dizziness, room spinning now and then - a different type of anxiety that just makes me want to cry that comes out of no where and makes me want to just crawl into bed. I am taking a multivitamin, Vitamin B complex, Vit C and magnesium...plus sea salt twice a day. What am I doing wrong or missing? I have already had to have time off work cause can't function properly like this. Any advice would be incredibly appreciated. Many thanks
Guest guest
Ferritin - 24 ug/L (15 - 200) Thsi is what oyu are missing. You need iron horribly. I would start with 150-200mg of elemental iron daily. You may need to work up to that dose and take it on empty stomach twice a day wiht vitamin C. -- Artistic Grooming- Hurricane WV http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/

Guest guest
Sorry, forgot to mention that I am taking a liquid iron supplement of an evening...was originally taking 200mg/day but after a week and a bit ended up with terrible bowel issues for 4 days straight, which I found really disheartening...all I want to do is raise my ferritin but my bowel is so sensitive to it. I now take 120mg/day but have to watch it, so the same thing doesn't happen again. Do you think staying off the HC is therefore a good idea? I can't find anyone talking about ending up with high cortisol levels all day after HC use (mine was 12 months in total). I now feel that it is common sense to not take HC anymore given my levels, but am I now at risk of them going in the opposite direction? I bought some phosphatidyl serine today (the type that Janie recommends) but am apprehensive about trying it. I bought it with the idea of it assisting with balancing out my cortisol levels. Good idea or should I just give my body a chance to level them out on their own? > > Ferritin - 24 ug/L (15 - 200) > > Thsi is what oyu are missing. You need iron horribly.
