I dindt realize that your dry eyes were not caused by rheumatic disease. I

looked up vitreous detachment http://www.nei.nih.gov/health/vitreous/ and now

wondering if I too, have this problem. I am near sighted 20/500 and I have

floaters constantly, according to the article yuo are more likely to get it at

an older age than I am, but then again that is said about Sjogrens and here I am

with it. But the floaters did begin around the same time my eyes dried up. But I

dont know if thats the cause since I am dry all over. Perhaps it adds to the

disease causing the dryness because they drive me insane constantly. But then

wouldn't one of the opthamologists have seen this? They never dialated my eyes.

Is there anything that can be done for you ? Wonder why the article didn't

mention that dryness was a side effect of this condition. That's huge. Sorry you

are dealing with this on top of everything else, and thank you for your support.

important for your healing. I put " OT " because

of my vitreous detachment which has nothing to do with RA or the AP. The

dry eyes started after that for me. I have found people willing to share

what helps them, and so it's a useful resource here to be able to ask

questions. We all have ups and downs with this treatment. Read Dr. Brown's

book if you haven't already. It's also helpful to read the success stories

at rheumatic.org. They, too, will give you hope.

All the best,

I use GenTeal gel for severe dry eyes. It seems to work quite well. There is

also an ointment you can use at night
