Hi Sue,

I saw a couple of your posts on the forum. I have a 10 year old son who

has rheumatic disease. He was diagnosed at about 16 months of age.

They started him on prednisone and naproxyn (naprosin) at that time and

worked their way up to methotrexate. I did constant research and was

ridiculed by the rheumatologists whenever I suggested any different type

of treatment or lifestyle/diet change to heal him.

Finally, when his fingernails started to turn black and fall off, I

found a pediatric rheumatologist here in St. Louis who was at least open

to trying the AP. We travelled to Iowa where we saw Dr. Sinnott

(mentioned in the books). After the I.V. antibiotic treatment, I asked,

" Is this what a normal 3 year old boy acts like? " Amazing.

Fast forward 7 years. He still has pain, and hobbles like a little old

man, but... He plays basketball until it hurts, baseball until it hurts

and looks and acts such that no one believes he has " arthritis " .

If you have not tried the AP yet for your son, do it. The sooner the

better. Hopefully you can get him for the I.V. treatment as well. It

is huge.

If I can be of any help, please don't hesitate to call me. But the

wonderful folks on this board know far more than me when it comes to

labs and counts and all that complicated diagnosis stuff. They have

been a godsend.

To all of you, I say God bless you and thank you.

To you Sue, I say, you are in the right place for help.

Diane

Hi Diane,

has been on AP since last May. He is much better as far as the

scleroderma is concerned but his hand joints are still deformed. We are so

afraid that we are causing damage to the joints. The rheumatologist knows

that he is on AP (for Lyme as well), but she suggested enbrel for 4 months

to see if we can bring the joints back - does that make sense?
