Guest guest
I'm going to order my tests for an iron panel and aldosterone. Is there anything else I need to get tested for that goes along with aldosterone beside the sex hormones? I'm taking a saliva test for those. You may have done this already, have you had your aldosterone tested? Low aldosterone can cause the excessive sweating upon exertion. You mentioned you were having sex hormones tested...including progesterone? Low progesterone can be a cause of low temps. And these two are related...progesterone is the raw material the body uses to make aldosterone. I have no idea if this applies to you, but it was a BIG DEAL for me, and I wanted to throw this idea out there, just in case it might help you. > > I keep asking question after question ( to doctors and forums ) but I don't ever get my problems fixed, ( not blaming anyone here ) it's just that there seems to be no answer to my problems. I have been reading up on the internet and from what I see I must be abnormal because I don't respond to what others respond to. When I take salt I blow up like a balloon and it doesn't slow down my heart rate, when I tried magnesium ( I'm still using it ) it did nothing to slow down my heart rate, when I reduced my T3 my heart rate seemed to go even higher and my BP went up. Today my heart rate is up again in the 112-115 range. Two days ago it was good ( for me ) under 100. I think there has to be something major wrong with me which has nothing to do with my thyroid. I just don't get it at all. My tempts stay steady at 95.5 almost all the time and if they change it goes to 95.7. I've been treating my adrenal issues for years and don't think this has anything to do with it but I'm probably wrong. I just don't know where to go or who to trust anymore. I wish I could find a decent doctor that knew what he was doing but so far no such luck. Has anyone else had these problems I've been dealing with. Is there a good doctor that knows what he's doing? I'd travel to visit him at this point. > > I'm going to be taking a saliva test for cortisol and sex hormones in the next few days and also getting my ferritin done once again. > > Any help is appreciated because I'm getting very depressed over my health issues. I can't seem to do anything without sweating. >

Guest guest
I've read that the most accurate aldosterone results are achieved by salt-fasting 24 hours prior to the test, and taking the test on the 2nd day of the menstrual cycle. No additional tests, just some suggestions...are you on any sex hormones at all? (pills/cream/anything) If yes, the saliva test may not be accurate, and the blood test is better. http://thyroid-rt3.com/stopping.htm Be sure to be off all iron for 5 days prior to the iron tests. http://thyroid-rt3.com/stopping.htm Since your temps are so low, don't miss Nick's page on temperatures: http://thyroid-rt3.com/temperat.htm > > > > > > I keep asking question after question ( to doctors and forums ) but I don't ever get my problems fixed, ( not blaming anyone here ) it's just that there seems to be no answer to my problems. Guest guest
No not any prescribed hormones. I take supplements by Woman to Woman which has black cohash and ashwagandha in it. Thanks for the links, I'll read them. The adrenal group FAQ site may help, that's the second link below http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ Their FAQ Web site is here http://faqhelp.webs.com/ Remember you need to be salt fasting before testing. Renin gets talked about but I don't know enough to advise if you need to test it. Guest guest
You should have: - aldosterone - renin - electrolytes (or sodium and potassium) You should salt fast for 24 hours. Have the test done at 8 am and have it done the first week of you period if you are a woman. You can look at the adrenal groups files and there is advice in there on the protocol for taking the aldosterone test. You can also find some good info on STTM page: http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/aldosterone/ --Steph > > > > > > I keep asking question after question ( to doctors and forums ) but I don't ever get my problems fixed, ( not blaming anyone here ) it's just that there seems to be no answer to my problems.
