Guest guest
Shari, I was told by a dr that now they can totally knock you out for MRIs. My husband had one and got 10mg of Valium and it put him in lala land!! Also years ago I was told there was a weight limit for MRI's. How about an open MRI? They will NEVER get me in an MRI unless I am TOTALLY knocked out! I will keep you in my prayers. In fact, I tried 3 times to squeeze my fat arse into that suasage maker. I freaked out, too claustrophobic. They will try again on Thursday with Valium ... lots of Valium, I hope. I can't believe I'm such chicken. Do chickens have boobs? Shari
Guest guest
I had a normal MRI when they did my head a few times and that took some getting used to and the size of that machine was fine. This one's about 1/2 the diameter and a bit shorter. I was on my tum with the boobies hanging thru big holes and my face burried in a pillow. I am a " big girl " but did fit OK according to their criteria. It's just that I would never wear clothes that tight and I got a freaky attack. I felt like I was being born again. They will give me a size 10 Valium, but that doesn't knock me out. It will certainly slow me down a bit tho. I can't even sleep with the bedroom door closed, so this is really bringing out my crazy! ;^) Shari > > Shari, > I was told by a dr that now they can totally knock you out for MRIs. Guest guest
I have only gone in the MRI feet first. The first time the surgeon gave me something in a shot. That wasn't too bad. The next time I had 6 Ativan. Two an hour before, 2 when we got to the hospital. I was feeling pretty good after 4 but decided I would take the other 2. I was feeling GREAT! Once I saw the MRI machine it was like someone threw cold water on me and it was back to the real world. Never again unless I am totally out/ Hugs nne Breast Cancer Patients Soul Mates for Life http://www.geocities.com/chucky5741/breastcancerpatients.html BreastCancerStories.com http://www.breastcancerstories.com/content/view/433/161/ Angel Feather Loomer www.angelfeatherloomer.blogspot.com Check out my other ornaments at www.geocities.com/chucky5741/bcornament.html Lots of info and gifts at: www.cancerclub.com MRI > > > > I tried to get a pre-surgery MRI today. One thing that helps me with my MRI's is that I ask for earplugs AND earphones (the type shooters use). That helps me to deal with the noise better than only earplugs. I know I'll be in for a few more MRI's before this is all over. -Frances PS I've joked that should I ever write a book about my BC experience I would call it " Beyond the Green Horizon: Or, How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the MRI. " (The green horizon refers to the soybean field across the street from my house. It is west of my house and I need to travel west to get to the hospital.) M R Bartels ki0dz@... Guest guest
We have soy beans and corn all around us. The noise isn't the problem its the claustrophobia.
