Guest guest
Yep, what Peggy said. Can't beat the Venofer IVs for raising ferritin. Here's links to posts on this subject. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/35433 http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/32581 http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/35464 http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/38082 http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/34651 The only caution I am aware of with Venofer is if the patient has low blood pressure. I used to have very low blood pressure; I've read that Venofer's recommendation for this is to run the IV a lot slower. My IVs now take about a half hour; back when I had low blood pressure they slowed the rate of infusion and it took over an hour to get the same dose. Same good end result, just a little longer time sitting in the IV room. > > I had the same problem and had to do a series of iron IV's. My ferritin came up immediately, while with orals it not only wrecked my stomach but didn't raise ferritin. > > Peggy > > Ferritin > > > > My ferritn is 30, and had got some elemental iron and waiting for it to arrive. I have gastritis, and am worried about the stomach issues iron may give. My stomach is very sensitive especially with the gastritis. What does a person do if they can't tolerate iron? Also, could I treat the adrenal probelms, and RT3 problem the same time?? > > Thanks, Liz >
