Guest guest
Amy, Joints and muscles - even sharp shooting pains in the muscles. I can't think of anything I may be doing to be causing them to stiffen so much so quickly. I know what you mean about the dry skin. MIne has always been that way. I get out of the shower, then bathe in baby oil. Even with that after a couple of hours my skin on my arms and legs look like a dried up lake bed, all cracked and flaky. I hate it, it's emberassing. I give up trying to figure out what all of this is. Just talk again to rhumie in a couple of weeks and hopefully he will start treating the lupus. If not I may strangle him. Guest guest
Hi, I too have very dry skin and my hands look like I am 100 yrs. old. I have always had very dry flaky skin, not smooth and healthy.. I also have a very ugly sallow complexion that I have wondered if it is indicative of liver disease..? Any thoughts whether anyone else has a yellow tinge to their skin? Have a good day, Lyn toots_k <toots_k@...> wrote: Amy,. I know what you mean about the dry skin. MIne has always been that way. Guest guest
Lyn, I have had a sallow complexion for as long as I can remember! My skin never seems to be too dry, though. Guest guest
Lyn, I do, I do. It compliments my yellow eyes. I would say yes it's related to liver disease. I don't know what to do about it however. My skin isn't dry however, that could be more related to natural skin type. Guest guest
Dear Carole, Some of your itching may be helped as a result of treating lupus. Heat, sun and lupus do not mix. My dermatologist who I went to about something else altogether, said that if you have SLE and a flare of rash, it means there can be problems happening inside too. So he, as well as my rhuemy have really pushed watching out for sun, UV exposure. My skin reacts so quickly that I don't mind staying out of direct sun but I'm not sure what you are supposed to do with a boat! Great AIH news!. Guest guest
Carole, How is your niece doing with her thyroid? Have they put her on meds? It's takes about 6-8 weeks for the meds balance out and 8 weeks before they can check it with blood work. Mood swings are bad when your thyroid is over active. I have been taking thyroid meds since in my early twenties. Mine thyroid is under active. About one year before dx with liver it was over active and then under and then over etc..... Took forever to regulate it. What is pluersy? Is that something to do with your lungs? How can you tell the lupus is attacking your kidneys? Can Lupus make your liver # go up? I was just curious that maybe you never had AIH and that it was Lupus all along. Years ago AIH was misdianosed as Lupus. When I really sick in my early 20's. Doctors thought I had Lupus. My docs think now the other docs missed the AIH way back then. Did you get a copy of your first bx report.? Are you still on the imuran? And is Lupus considered a autoimmune disease. Don't know much about it! Hoping you are feeling less stress from the financial problems now.Was going to write and tell you what my ex and I went through after moving to NH but knew it would be long and was sure it would make you feel better. The main reason we split was because of to many hard years together! Live shouldn't have to be so hard. We would of been alot better off if we had gone bankrupt! Even though we split, we still have financial shit that has to be dealt with. Personally I think he should sell the house and pay off everything, but, he never will agree to it. It would make both our lives easier, but, he's not a apt. person. It's that man thing. And I can understand part of it. A house doesn't mean anything to me if you have no life. Things that are important to me is family, friends, sharing good times together, having fun ,( you know for that Kodak moment) good food, coffee, chocolate and last but not least HOT FUDGE SUNDAES!! No interest on his part for any of this. Well this gives you a general idea of our relationship! Didn't mean to go that far!! Take Care -NH
Guest guest
Carole I am wondering what your symptoms were that lead to the diagnosis of lupus causing problems with your kidneys. I have been having several lupus flares and find that I am going to the bathroom all the time. Any help you can give would be appreciated thank you. the WV hillbilly

He said, "Last time at dr.'s mentioned this." . Cliff did not know the name. The Dr.s' do make him aware, of what he his up against. CLiff has to think about it.. Other times he is ok...... We will keep you informed. Cliff does have to take lactose.... But, he doesn't take it every day. Dr.'s want him to get rid of the bile this way. Yes, Carole, I will keep a good eye on him....... I can tell , when he is not the same. Just told him , he better take the lactose more often.... Thanks for caring. Hope you are feeling better. Guest guest
It's I'm afraid. We can't get them to do anything for several days and that includes dropping off the list. I'll e mail them with your problem but ususally going no mail happens faster than trying to get off the list entirely. This issue has been driving me crazy for about a month now. Guest guest
Oh Carole, No WONDER your neck has been hurting! Bless your heart! I hope the chocolate calcium and Fosomax help. I think we ALL need an extreme makeover! I just don't want to have to go through what you have to go through to be fixed! I think we all need new spines that don't break or curve wrong. You are too YOUNG to be this old! I feel the same way about myself. :-( At least it sounds like you have a caring doctor. Hang in there okay? I really need your encouraging words. Guest guest
Dear Txbluebelle! Thank you for your kind letter! You are right that I have a very caring primary care doctor. He is in good touch with me, and definiitely seems to care. I am sure that, during the next week, I will hear more from him. The diagnosis was very scary to me, I will admit. However, I would have to say that I did suspect something that awful. If anyone will help me, it will be Dr. Silver, and I will certainly be back in touch with him again tomorrow. I am not as frightened as I was earlier. I thank you so much for your caring. That is what we all here are about, right? Thank you, thank you! Love, Carole M. Guest guest
Hi Nutty, Just came back from your site. It is very nice! I like your bed, too, but most of all, I think outside your house is absolutely beautiful! Is the indent in the mattress one for each body, or one wide one for two people? We have a very comfortable mattress, kind of like the one they advertise with a glass of wine on it and a lady jumping on the bed. Thank you for sharing! Carole M.
