Guest guest
Here's the " short " version: I've been hypothyroid about 20 years; after Armour reformulation in spring of 2008 + extreme family stress I suddenly stalled in my weight loss efforts. After some research, I started Erfa Thyroid and had LOTS of labs done. My ferritin is now up to 118 (am decreasing my iron supplement from 6 caps to 3). I've been diagnosed with secondary adrenal fatigue and am currently on 25 mg. Cortef--my temps are still low and unstable (although I feel pretty good overall--some afternoon fatigue when I'm stressed.) Not sure if current doctor will agree to increase my Cortef prescription--may have to supplement with some add'l Isocort if this is okay to do. 4/12/10 Lab results : TSH 0.421 (0.480-4.500) down from 2.120 on 3/1/10 Free T3 2.5 (2.0-4.4) up from 1.9 on 3/1/10 Free T4 0.97 (0.82-1.77) down from 0.99 on 3/1/10 They FORGOT to do a Reverse T3 (!!!!) so I'm having another Free T3 and Reverse T3 done tomorrow. My FT3/RT3 ratio is from 03/10 was 9.6; from 10/09 it was 8.8. Can I start T3 therapy or do I need to still work on my temps first with add'l Cortef? If I can start on T3, I discontinue my Erfa entirely, correct--already read everything at http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/--and I believe that's what it says. Please let me know if you need more info to advise me. ANY HELP APPRECIATED!!!

Guest guest
It is best to start T3 with very stable temps as you can crash your adrenals if you don't. Isocort might help btu if not we have sources to buy your own without a script. -- http://nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/
