Guest guest
Bonnie, I would be happy to send you a copy of my article. I think I may have come across your daughter on another site. She started a thread for Oxycise! and I kind of jumped in, hoping it would be open for all breathers. :-) Okay, here's the article and I hope you'll enjoy it! Sincerely, Tami I am about to take you on the journey of a lifetime. A ride on the never-ending roller coaster of eating disorders, self defeat and physical demise. This is one girl’s story of a walk through the darkest jungles, without the slightest hint of light or hope, until a faint and unassuming ray of truth led her to a place of wholeness and health. It all started far too long ago to actually be able to pull the memories from the deep recesses of the mind. So, I’ll begin where every good story should, where it is intriguing enough to keep the attention of the reader, and accurate enough to be effective. I suppose she had been suffering from eating disorders long before anyone truly realized. Having been diagnosed with juvenile diabetes just prior to reaching adolescence, a great deal of time and attention were paid to her seemingly endless battle to keep this seriously chronic disease under control. Meanwhile other, equally important issues seemed to fall by the way side or were swept into life‘s secret crevices. By the time she was in High School, she had learned to use all the tools of the trade, ensuring her that much sought after look of ultra thinness. Bingeing and purging, refusal to eat and excessive exercising were all parts of her daily routine. Unfortunately, there was a great price to be paid for such an unnatural state of existence and sadly enough, many of the signs went unheeded, until far to late. It’s very difficult to pin point exact dates and times of the events that occurred in the years that followed. Perpetual stays in the hospital, crushed dreams, loneliness and isolation. They all seem to form one great mass of hurt and shame. Her life followed an exhausting pattern of ups and downs, and it wasn’t long before the downs times began to prevail. As time went on, the valleys became deeper and darker, until they finally turned into gaping trenches of despair. She married and soon after, gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, then a short time later, to her handsome son. It was a very difficult time for this young mother, trying to raise her children, hold down a job and continue to binge and purge until she was unable to even pick herself up off the floor. Makes one wonder if it could get any worse. Surprisingly, this young woman was, despite all her illnesses, a very loving and concerned mother. This is probably the reason she felt she would die of a broken heart, when the doctor delivered his fatal blow. If she did not make some very difficult changes in her eating habits, she would not live to see the end of the year. As you can imagine, the pain at hearing these words was far more intense than any life saving medical procedure she had undergone. Yes much more despairing than her complete loss of hair or the issuing of false teeth. At the young age of 35, she felt sure it couldn’t get any worse than the heart attack and stroke she had just recently survived. But it did, and now this. Her children would be left to survive without the love of their mother to raise them, encourage them, and teach them. This was simply more than she could handle. So, in a frantic attempt to change her destiny, she set out on a quest to find freedom from all that had her bound. She bought book after book, describing eating plans, fitness techniques and sure fire health remedies. She followed every fad diet that the wind blew in, only to find herself more lost than ever. Eventually, she was in such a bad state, that she could no longer lift herself from her bed. Death was eminently near, and it seemed nothing could hold it at bay. Not too much later, while lying in bed and watching television, our girl came upon a most interesting infomercial. It described to her a new form of exercise that claimed it would, without a doubt, change her life and lead her to success. Of course, she ordered without delay, whipping out her credit card and insisting on rush delivery. One month later, when her package still hadn’t arrived, she started to wonder if maybe this wasn’t just a cruel joke, meant to further torment the already desperate soul of a young woman’s attempt to reach out for help. But alas, after waiting for what seemed like an eternity, she found what she had been waiting for lying, on her doorstep. She rushed inside to remove the packaging and sit down for a good look at what she had purchased. After inserting the video into the VCR, she recognized the woman standing before her from the long ago infomercial. The woman was teaching a strange new breathing technique, guaranteed to get the user aerobic and fully worked out, in 20 minutes flat. It certainly looked easy enough, a little silly maybe, but definitely something she could do. After many months of strictly adhering to this particular breathing plan, it was obvious she was getting absolutely nowhere. Not only had she not lost a single inch, she had become larger, which had such adverse affects on her moral, that it drove her deeper into the cave of despair and self-destruction. She prepared to give up and give in, when she received her first glimpse of true light. It was one of those days that she was actually able to arise from her bed and spend a little time researching and browsing the internet for diet and weight loss topics. This, of course, was her only real use for the computer, in that her love for food and lack of control there of lay heavy on her mind. While surfing through the sites offering support for overeaters, dieters and fitness junkies, she took a side route, finding out about a program named Life Lift. It sounded so different from anything else she had heard of or tried before, that it seemed worth taking a look at. Eventually, she happened upon a group of people, all using this method of exercise. They seemed to be experiencing incredible results. Not only were they seeing inch and weight loss, many testified of health improvements, mental clarity and an overall sense of well being. Now this truly appeared to be something she could use! But even though she desperately wanted to believe, she had been down that rose colored path before, only to be left disappointed, broken and hurting. When she had at last located the website of the Life Lift breathing program, the need to find some answers to the many questions that plagued her mind came rising to the surface. Is it too late for me? Is this program really able to help someone this far gone? What about the ability to aid in the healing of such a confused mind and wounded spirit? The answer to all these questions was an emphatic Yes! You have come to the right place and help is on it‘s way! She had found an address to send a personal email to the creator of the Life Lift program, and did not hesitate to use it. A swift reply was delivered from a woman named Rashelle Haines. Immediately the name was associated in her mind to the picture of a beautiful woman on the Life Lift web site. Below the photo, was a story explaining that this was the person responsible for bringing the Life Lift aerobic breathing program into existence. In this brief article , it was mentioned that this woman had fought, as a very young girl, many of her own battles. Being completely crippled and raised in a family of meager existence, her loving father would carry her from place to place because of the financial inability to afford a wheelchair. Many and various physicians had given her the diagnosis of a very short life span. But her spirit was not broken. Instead of defeat she chose to design her own destiny by setting out to find a permanent, more natural means of self healing. Our girl had read that this lovely woman was now a mother and grandmother of several beautiful children of her own. But how could this be, she didn’t look like she had ever been sick a day in her life, much less of the age to have grandchildren! So, after much deliberation, the Life Lift breathing program was ordered, and a new friend had been made. Rashelle was the first person ever to hold off judgment and simply listened to the heartache suffered by this young woman in such obvious pain. She offered help in overcoming the obstacles, giving support and understanding when all seemed lost. It was only a matter of days before the Life Lift video arrived, and not much more time elapsed before true miracles began to occur in this young woman’s life. She found her desire to practice such destructive forms of eating, disappearing, while her self worth was escalating. Soon, her body began growing stronger as she went from bed ridden, to becoming an effective, participating member of her family. The dark clouds seemed to roll away, as the sun shown it’s bright healing rays down upon this once broken body. Before long, she had realized all the miracles that she had been granted and the many feats she had been able to over come. The life long battle of eating disorders and self hate, leading to sure death, were things of the past. Through these monumental victories, she found herself reaching out to others in need. Daily she grew stronger, as she practiced her Life Lift breathing technique, and learned from the boundless amounts of wisdom held by her mentor and friend, Rashelle. Today, she is a healthy, active woman, with a wonderful family and full, blessed life. She participates in supporting those who are still trying to find there way out of the darkness and is also very actively involved in her children’s lives and interest. Her talents as an artist and author, are finding there way into the homes of many, through her original works of art and her various writings. You may be wondering how I was able to know so much about this young girl turned woman. Or how I came by such personal and privileged information. The answer is quite simple, you see, that hurting, desperate woman of the past, was indeed, me. Guest guest
Sorry guys, I didn't realize the whole entire list was going to be subjected to such a long email. I thought it would go to Bonnie directly. I should have paid better attention, but sometimes, with these pain killers, I make silly errors. Sorry! Sincerely, Tami

Guest guest
GailVW, I'm glad that you enjoyed the article. I hope that I didn't get too many people upset about sending such a long post to the list, especially for those that receive the post via digest. Sorry guys! I am just wondering, since I've been out of the circuit lately, what meds you just went off? You probably already know this, but it usually takes a little while before these things work their way completely out of our systems. See if you are able to drink a little more water than usual. I have found this to help greatly. Once again, thanks for the kind words about my article. I really appreciate you taking the time to let me know that you enjoyed it. :-) Sincerely, Tami
Guest guest
Jo, thanks so much. It is always a sort of insecure feeling, sharing such a personal thing with others and hoping that they will enjoy what they have read and not think that I'm nuts. I really appreciate the positive feedback and encouragement. Sincerely, Tami
Guest guest
Liz, Thanks so much for the brilliant review! :-) I am doing so much better! I'm back on my healthy eating trend, having finally " Broken out of Food Jail " , so to speak. I've been out of bed almost all day, doing several breaths about every 20 minutes, and I gotta say, feeling great! It's about 9:45PM here, so I better start considering getting to bed. I just wanted to add one little thing though. If there are those of you who are also doing the " Breaking out of Food Jail " program, don't worry, the weight gain does eventually stop and you will start to lose weight without even thinking about it. I never thought that day would come, but it's finally happening for me. Well, thanks again for the kind words, they really mean a lot to me! Sincerely, Tami

Guest guest
Tami, that is wonderful. Maybe you already do, but you really shoud write more!!!! Melisa Re: An article Melisa, I'm glad that you would like to read a copy of my article. It's so much more fun to write, when there are those out there that want to read it! Okay, here's your copy, and I pray you'll enjoy it!
