Guest guest
The ONLY reason fo rthis kind of reaction is WEAK ADRENALS. 90% of people that take T3 at nigh helps them sleep and feel better in the AM. In healthy peop;le TSH peaks at nidnight giving us the highest thyroid levels of the day about 2 AM. In people woith weak adrenals, the low glucose time of day is also 2AM. Can we say hypoglycemia? And no it won;t show up on lanbs that a dumb ER will do as by the time you get ther eyour glucose wil be HIGH from adrenaline. Adrenaline that causes the racing palps and FEAR feelings. PLEASE do nto say this si for all of us taking T3. It si NOT. I can take 50mcg AT bedtime and sleep liek a rock, but then I have high AM cortiosl. You need to get cortisol saliva testing done ASAP if you are to continue on T3 treatment. Guest guest
When I was admitted around 7 pm on Saturday I had already been at the ER for over 6 hours and without food for 8 hours. When they checked my blood sugar at 7 pm it was 134 and then they checked again every four hours after that and lowest of the three days was 103 and the highest was 111 after breakfast, I had variations each time but not as high as when I came in. My tempts, heart rate and BP were taken for every hour for four hours and then after that every 4 hours, the results were tempts from 97.2- 97.6 stretching for the entire three days and my heart rate varied but never went past 106 when I was checked in. Morning tempts were always low and then they stay steady during the day. What do these numbers say about my adrenals? I have always taken my T3 at bed and slept great up until about two weeks ago. They ignored the134 and said it was not bad and would have been worried if it went over 150. What is a blood sugar level for hypoglycemia? I know that I can't go for long periods of a time without eating or I feel light headed. I have a feeling that the episode I had is heart related and has nothing what so ever to do with T3. It was a weird way my heart did something that made me feel strange and it was not a racing heart rate. They said my heart rate was 106 and that didn't worry them one bit. The EKG showed an abnormality which only showed up once in the ER but it was the same feeling I had in the car. I'm sorry if I insinuated that people shouldn't take T3 at bed, I didn't mean that. I was referring to the person that the T3 was keeping her up at night and not saying that people shouldn't take it at bedtime. I never meant that my situation would happen to her if she took it at night either. I only meant that T3 was keeping me up all night and which in turn caused me to be wired and set the ball into motion. Guest guest
It actually helps me to sleep. Before I was taking it, I would be awake like what happened to you taking it. It just goes to show we are all different and we need to take that into consideration.Venizia Sounds like quite an ordeal you went through! > > > > > > , > > > > > > If T3 had kept me awake, I'd have stopped taking it at bedtime. I don't know if that's the right or wrong way to do it. For me, taking T3 at bedtime was an experiment. It worked, so I've continued to do it. Being awake all night--once would be enough to make me stop dosing T3 at bedtime. I just couldn't handle that. > > > > > > Peggy > > > > > > Re: T3 at bedtime > > > Hmmm...okay, well then I guess adrenals still aren't stable yet because I took it at bedtime with my HC and I was awake (yet again) all night. > > > On that note, I recently tried to increase my T3 and I was wondering if it takes a few days for my adrenals to settle down. In the past, I've found that thyroid adjustments take about three days for my adrenals/body to get used to. So if I get increased sleep problems after increasing T3 dosage, does his mean I should back off on the T3 or wait a few days to see if my adrenals settle? > > > > > > Thanks for your responses! > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
It helps me get to sleep also. I'm only on 40 mcg total, so taking 10 mcg at bed. --Steph > > > > > > > > > > , > > > > > > > > > > If T3 had kept me awake, I'd have stopped taking it at bedtime. Guest guest
I sleep good with T3, but I should add that I absolutely have to clear my mind before I can fall asleep. If I'm thinking too much I make myself count so that I can drift off. I'm usually asleep within 15 minutes of hitting the pillow. I take 2.5 HC and 10 mcg at bedtime. --Steph > > Do most of you take your T3 at bedtime or do you find that it keeps you awake? I have major sleep issues and take 5 mg HC at night so I wasn't sure if it's a good idea to take T3 at night too or to try and take all my T3 in the morning and afternoon. > > Thanks! > > >
Guest guest
Well last night after I took my typtophan and melatonin I was so tired I was ready to sleep and so I took my HC (5 mg) then next thing you know, I wasn't tired any more. Does this mean the 5 was too much and should maybe reduce to 2.5? > > > > Do most of you take your T3 at bedtime or do you find that it keeps you awake?
